Great afternoon tea - Edit
This place is great for a bit of an elevated afternoon tea in a beautiful atmosphere (especially with the winter decorations). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I think it's great that they have a whole afternoon tea menu in vegan and everything was super tasty. They even had take out boxes for us to take the leftovers. If you're looking for a bit of a special experience in Edinburgh, go for it!

Had a lovely afternoon there. My sister booked the vegan option in advance. The sandwiches were great, the vegan clotted cream‘s consistency was a bit off (sticky-Stretchy?) and the cake was not the one that was on the menu. only two options instead of two and only the carrot cake was on the menu. The carrot cake was nice, the other one a bit dry and without much flavor.

Very posh place. We went for afternoon tea and had given dietary requirements in advance. Everything I had was delicious and the cakes were very tasty. Only criticisms are that there were no plain vegan scones despite us informing them of dietary requirements in advance, so I had to have a fruit one. Also it is free top ups for the tea but they just add more hot water so by the third pot it’s quite weak. Also some of the sandwiches had bread that was a little stale. Besides that it was all excellent and really deserving of 4 stars, but due to the mentioned criticisms I can’t give it that.

I went here for the afternoon vegan tea and was not disappointed. It was very upscale and exactly what you would expect. The separate vegan menu was great, the food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly and attentive.

💭: I have been twice, best vegan afternoon tea I have tried so far! However, I did switch the artichoke, pea and mint salad out for another roasted vegetable and hummus sandwich (personal preference as didn’t like it the first time). The cakes are out of this world, dying to ask for a recipe

📝: Absolutely love the dome and the fact I can have afternoon tea with Grans! Have not had a meal in here as of yet but I am dying to go back and try. Lovely setting and a great birthday/christmas present. Staff have been lovely both times

Food was delicious! Had sandwiches including hummus and roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes and arugula and a pea spread. Cakes were lovely too, fruit scone with jam and dairy free cream, lemon tart and strawberry cake. Offered oat or soy milk with tea. Service was great.

Visited in the summer to celebrate my girlfriend’s uni graduation. Afternoon tea was absolutely delicious! Also visited the Grill Room at Christmas and had the vegan options then also! Would recommend for a special occasion

Read moreI actually came here before the pandemic in 2019 (but I wasn’t a member yet here) but I thought it’s still worth reviewing here on HappyCow.
They have a full vegan option for afternoon tea that was really tasty. And more importantly it wasn’t expensive at all, especially if you compare the prices to the ones in London.
I had the vegan afternoon tea with a glass of champagne for less than £30 I believe.
Definitely recommend going there, even if it’s just to admire the beautiful interior.
