Serves meat, vegan options available. Part of the Greene King pub chain offering a separate vegan menu. Vegan dishes include a soup and salad, Mexican bean burger, faux "fish n chips" (by V-Bites), chickpea and sweet potato curry and a super salad. Also has an apple pie, chocolate and coconut torte and cherry bakewell tart for dessert. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-21:00.

Buyer beware

We were quite excited after reading the description on here. A full vegan menu including tofish and chips. Sadly The George has no separate vegan menu and the only option on offer was a falafel burger. Add to that the fact that the bar staff were reluctant to even acknowledge us at the bar and you have a very disappointing experience. We walked down the road 100 yards and ended up with quite a reasonable curry.

Pros: It's a pub.

Cons: Only one vegan option (even chips are non vegan)
