Fuimos a este restaurante tras leer muchísimas y muy positivas reseñas que aún no consigo entender.
Read moreLlegamos y había dos mesas más (pequeñas), se nos avisó de que estaban "muy ocupados" y que tardarían bastante en atendernos. Nos sorprendió, pero decidimos quedarnos igualmente pensando que no sería un tiempo de espera excesivo.
Tardaron unos 15 minutos en tomarnos el pedido de las bebidas. Otros 10 en traer dos botellas de agua. Otros 10 hasta que pedimos la comida. Otros 10 hasta que nos avisaron de que uno de los platos pedidos no estaba disponible.
De refilón escuchamos decir a otros comensales que no tenían el datáfono funcionando (error no avisarnos antes de pedir la comida, tuvimos que ir en busca de un cajero para poder pagar).
En todo este tumulto, el propietario salió al menos TRES veces al supermercado más cercano y volvía con una bolsa llena de comida. Es más, mientras yo iba al baño escuché a ella decir que necesitaban comprar más patatas fritas... Aunque luego en las reseñas dicen que es todo casero, no es verdad.
La comida tardó al menos una hora en salir (incomprensible, ya que eran congelados) y ni siquiera tenía buen sabor ni buen aspecto.
Es cierto que la propietaria es amable y servicial, pero tanto la comida como el servicio son muy deficientes.
Para más inri, la cuenta la dijo de forma improvisada, sin ningún tipo de justificante. Me pidio, 21,90€ y nunca me trajo mi cambio. Serán sólo 10 céntimos, pero no es así como se hacen las cosas.
En fin, una pena que uno de los pocos restaurantes veganos de la isla se esmere tan poco en dar un buen servicio y comida saludable y casera de verdad.
Por último, las respuestas pasivo-agresivas a las reseñas dicen mucho (y muy negativo) de los propietarios.

We ate here at the beginning of April and were very warmly welcomed as well as receiving super friendly service from the lovely couple who run the place. Yummy food too with gluten free options. We will be back!

We arrived in between lunch and dinner and were warmly welcomed by the lovely Julie. The food was great! Homemade chunky chips were exceptionally good! Loved the spring rolls and lasagne. The food was all piping hot and freshly made.

The town of Costa Teguise is very poor for vegan food. Funky Buddha is the great exception to this. Really good vegan food and a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. Inexpensive too. Everything is vegan, there are lots of different kind of dishes and the owner makes everything by herself! The best vegan food in town. And very friendly staff! We'll be back for sure.

Only downside is it took one hour from the moment we sat down for our starters to arrive. Onion bhajis and Garlic Mushrooms. Then another 40 for mains burger and chips, and tofish and chips. Food was very good, if a bit greasy.(There were three tables having food) It took 40 mins for the soup to arrive for the table next to us. One staff in kitchen and one doing floor/ bar.
Would have been 3 stars if the staff weren't extremely lovely and friendly

Kind owner, very attentive. Had high hopes based on the reviews but didn't really like the food that much. Burger was very dry. The "fish" from the fish and chips was a bland slab of tofu fried with breadcrumbs. All in all not a lot of flavor. Too bad! The village can definitely use a good vegan restaurant!

Vegan Hidden Gem - Edit
Fabulous, honest vegan food with great service. It’s wonderful to have a choice rather than just having the only vegan option available. Italian night was authentic and delicious 10/10. We’ve loved it so much, we’ve eaten here everyday. No point in going anywhere else when the food and choice is as good as it is here. As for the cocktails - moreish!!

The staff was very attentive. They set up a table inside for us because it was very cold outside. Even being a cocktail oriented pub and we didn't drink alcohol, the food was perfect. We had spring rolls, spicy wedges, lasagna and the curry rice. For dessert we had a delicious apple crumble.

There was three non vegans in our party. We all had the vegan roast dinner, and everyone absolutely loved it. The potatoes were a stand out, but that’s not to say that everything else wasn’t perfect also. The cocktails are MASSIVE and delicious. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. A must for every veggie person or anyone interested in the vegan diet.

We found this on the happy cow app and although it was a long ish walk from our hotel we took a chance, and I’m so glad we did!
Read moreThis was by far the best restaurant for vegans in Costa teguise! When we first arrived we had a bit of trouble finding it and upon approach thought it looked a bit random and isolated.
Looks can be deceiving because this food was great, freshly made and super tasty!
I had the tofish and chips, the owners explained to me that they had no ordinary tofu and even went to the local shop where they also had no tofu, so she offered olive infused tofu, which worked really well!
My non veggie boyfriend had the bbq burger which he loved! He was super happy to have something not too “veggie” in an all vegan place. This spot definitely has options for everyone.
To top it all off after we finished our meal the owners (husband and wife) came to sit with us for about 15 minutes to chat about our holiday. They were a delight and made the experience top notch!

Read moreWe ordered the Tofish Chips and some burgers too. The tofu wasn't very seasoned, tasted like they just got a bit of tofu, battered and fried it. It was nice, and chips were yummy and homemade. Not much to the food and the atmosphere was friendly if a bit run down.
Love that it's fully vegan, and the couple who run it are really friendly.

Best homemade food - Edit
Love that the funky Buddha is fully vegan and offers gorgeous homemade food. Our party had lasagne ( stodgy just as I like it and best vegan lasagne I have tried), beyond burger and tofu fish and chips everyone liked their food and we decided to come back for Sunday lunch followed by strawberry cheesecake we were not disappointed (see pic). The granddaughter said they make the best smoothies too. The owners are lovely and friendly. Give this little gem a visit and see for yourself.

Fantastic lady and gent who were serving & cooking, they’d ran out of tofu but went out of their way to make sure we had anything and everything we wanted and needed - we had the vegan cheese burgers chips and salad and 2 beers (Dorada) she even made hubby some chilli to go on top - they really were very good.
