Serves meat, vegan options available. Plenty of vegan and gluten free offerings, all clearly marked on the menu. Examples of vegan dishes are a Mediterranean mezze platter, mushroom risotto, Mediterranean vegetable fajitas, as well as a couple of salads and burgers. The menu notes that most vegetarian menu items can also be modified for vegan diets. Open Mon-Sat 12:00-00:00, Sun 12:00-18:00.

Great Food + Great Beer = Happy Return Visitors - Edit
Proof that we loved this restaurant while spending a weekend in Canterbury is that we returned for their Sunday roast after eating there with friends two nights earlier.

Ok - Edit
There were quite a few vegan options, but I was a little disappointed with the tart that I ordered. The pastry was a bit overcooked, and the filling was a bit sloppy. I'm not sure whether I chose the wrong thing, but I just didn't find the food partcularly inspired.

Great food and beer - Edit
The Foundry is a brewpub with a variety of vegan options and many in-house brewed beer offerings. I tried the very tasty mushroom risotto, which was accompanied by vegan garlic toast and a mixed green salad with a mustard dressing. My wife ate the veganized Mediterranean vegetable fajitas, which could feed two people (yes, I got some too) and had a moderately spicy chili-flavored sauce with what tasted like a hint of BBQ sauce. Would highly recommend.

Nice food, exceptional staff - Edit
Main and desserts were pleasant and generously portioned, but the real star of the show was the staff who went above and beyond to cater for my partners mum who is gluten free with other intolerances. The Mediterranean platter she wanted wasn't gf, but the staff offered to replace the pitta with a toasted gluten free bun, and her falafel with either a meat or vegan sausage free of charge. They were friendly and forthcoming throughout and definitely made the atmosphere a welcoming one.

Cons: Needs more vegan options which aren't burgers
