Actual choice!

We were pleasantly surprised to find that The Forbidden Corner cafe caters to vegans. There was actual choice on the menu and as I result we over-ordered! In a tourist attraction it feels rare to fine more than a token burger or bowl but here we had the choice of pies, pastries, jackets and soup and of course the obligatory vegan burger.
We had a vegan sausage roll - not healthy but tasty. We tried the pea soup which was also good, although the accompanying bread roll was sweet for our taste. The hit with us was the jacket potato with hummus and salad. It was surprisingly good. The cafe really added to our day out there with the family. We felt included.

Pros: Vegan and vegetarian options, Friendly staff, Quick counter, order style service.

Cons: Serves meat

Meh

The website had an example vegan menu that stated to look in the cooler for sandwiches but everything had meat/cheese/egg in. There was a self service tomato & pepper soup option, but the soup pot was empty (so didn’t bother to ask if it was vegan). We were about to leave but noticed a vegan sausage roll and pie in the hot food section. We had a vegan sausage roll each - I smothered mine in tomato ketchup. It was alright, but bit lukewarm and overall forgettable. I seen people with baked potatoes & baked beans so that was probably a vegan option. I’d advise to BYO lunch and use the picnic tables near the carpark.
