Good vegan choices in this omni pub - Edit
I haven't been to this pub for some years mainly because of lack of choice for vegans. However, Vintage Inns now have a dedicated Vegan menu which they serve 7 days a week.
Read moreI had the Pinenut and Carrot Falafel with a spiced red pepper dip and toasted ciabatta to start with - this was really really tasty and a nice bit of heat with the dip. The toasted ciabatta added a nice bit of texture to the dish too - I'd definitely order this again without hesitation.
For my main course I ordered the Roasted Aubergine Roll - miso sesame glazed aubergine, with a chipotle dip and a kale & cauliflower couscous salad. I didn't get any miso flavour sadly on the aubergine but that's not to say it wasn't tasty. The dip was pretty sweet and as I usually avoid sugar (particularly in a savory dish!) I perhaps would choose something on my next visit. Our server said as we were paying that their Vegan curry was really nice - so will give that a punt next time.
One thing to be mindful of is that the Kale & Cauliflower 'couscous' salad pops up in quite a few of the dishes as a side - mine also had some steamed broccoli with is too. So don't order that for a starter and then get it again as a side with your main course!
I also think that the food is a bit on the pricey side, they have a reduced choice set lunch menu for £11.95 but there aren't any vegan options on that one, which is real shame. So, you could end up paying a lot more than your fellow diners as most of the vegan main courses are over £10 each!
Pros: Good choices, Tasty food, Outside seating
Cons: A bit pricey - vegan not on set cheaper menu, Some repetition in dishes
