Good for vegetarians, not very vegan friendly - Edit
I booked lunch here and emailed ahead to ask if vegan options- they used to have a plant based menu. I said we were wary of being offered a vegetarian meal with the cheese/egg taken off for example. They noted the day we were going and reassured me there would be vegan options.
When we arrived there were no vegan options on the menu and our only option was a vegetarian meal with the poached egg taken off and no price reduction. There were no vegan desert options.
Very sad as used to be vegan friendly and one of our favourites.
Perhaps offering reduced choices due to covid, there is only a fixed price menu with a couple of veggie options per course (not sure if vegan or not) and we were disappointed by the simplicity and lack of flavour of the dishes - slices of tomato with a drizzle of basil oil was one starter, one main was simply brocilli with some avocado puree, pak choi and courgette, very little seasoning and no carbs! Good puds and service was lovely, but for 30 quid a head excl. drinks, we felt we got a raw deal.
We asked if they could cater for vegan food when we booked and they gave me a 3 course set menu when we arrived, with 3 choices per course. They had obviously made an effort to think about creating nice vegan food. Also had a vegetarian set menu.
It cost £29 for 3 courses so not cheap but the food tasted delicious.
