Best Tempeh EVER - Edit
Hands down the best tempeh I’ve ever had.
Read moreTheir tempeh sliders are so well prepared, the veggies are fresh and amazing, and the kale here is WOW (although I recommend asking for less salt on the kale if you’re like me). Seriously good food, even better employees.
Non-vegan options have been reported to me as excellent too if you’re brining friends. Really cute part of town!

They don't always have vegan chili 😢 - Edit
I was excited to try the vegan version of the famous Cincinnati chili, but they were not serving it that day. I ended up getting a falafel gyro with sweet potato fries and it was delicious. A bit of a bummer, but food was equally great in the end. Service took a while though!

Veggie wrap + tempeh! - Edit
Popped in for lunch one day while in town and I’m so glad we did! My in-laws and husband aren’t vegan/vegetarian but everyone ended up eating veggie.
Read moreI originally was going to get the tempeh sliders, but they were out of slider buns, so I ordered the veggie wrap and added tempeh—it was so good! Filling but not heavy. I also got the kale slaw which was pretty good, but man oh man those fries are tasty. My in-laws shared the falafel wrap and a cup of split pea soup, and my husband got the caprese sandwich. Everyone was very happy with their meal.
Lots of vegan options on the menu so if you’re in the area, it’s a great place to visit! (Especially if you’re eating in mixed company.)

Go-to dinner! - Edit
I've been here several times with family, all omnivores. They have quite a good selection of vegan options. I think I've tried everything at least once and have never been disappointed. There aren't many options on the Levee so it's worth going the extra couple blocks, you could walk if the weather is nice.

Have been here multiple times, will be back - Edit
Cute local restaurant with a variety of vegan options. I've always had the vegan beyond burger with vegan cheese and a side of fries. They have so many more vegan options, I've just been stuck on this burger since it is so good! Their staff is always friendly and inviting. The atmosphere is great. They do serve meat and other non vegan items. They also make their own ketchup that I find sort of sweet. I still eat it but would prefer standard ketchup. I do love how most everything is homemade and that I can support a local restaurant while eating vegan!

Great vegan options - Edit
Great vegan options, the tempeh sliders are delicious. I was told the fries are unfortunately fried in the same oil as chicken. BUT the seasonal sautéed vegetable sides are fantastic - especially the kale and mushrooms!

We had the portobello Fries for an appetizer (sauce probably not vegan), veggie burger (with gluten free bun!), and falafel pita. Really yummy stop for lunch!

Great food and a really friendly staff! - Edit
I really enjoyed going to The Elusive Cow with my family! After having horrible service getting a snack at a nearby restaurant near Cincinnati, we ended up at this place for our meal. It really made me appreciate the wonderful staff!
Read moreWhen we got there, I let our server know that we were vegan. I asked about their onion rings, and their kitchen staff offered to make them vegan because they were a bit slow at the time. The onion rings were beer battered and amazing!
The waitress let us know that all of their vegetarian options were actually vegan. There were several to pick from. I ordered the falafel wrap with the coconut curry soup as my side, and my husband had the tempeh sliders with tempeh bacon and fries. Both meals were totally delish. I would come back here again, AND I could see meeting omni-family for a meal here because they have something for everyone.
Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Wonderful staff , Delicious food

Delicious options for all kinds of diets! My family (all omnivores) had burgers and said they were some of the best they've ever had. We also tried the portabella fries. I had the tempeh sliders with kale slaw 😵 seriously so good. Great beer selection, great service, great food! Wish I could give 5 stars.

That falafel pita though... - Edit
We just love this place. Several vegan options, though I don't take advantage like I should bc I'm too obsessed with the falafel pita w/ dairy-free tzatziki to branch out. But I have also had the tempeh sliders (delicious) and a few cashew-cream based soups. The soups rotate so there is not always one available, you just have to ask. I told the waitress they should offer a vegan dessert and she said they've been thinking about it - hope that happens soon. They've got several other vegan or veganizable sandwich options too.

Wonderful neighborhood place - Edit
Nice atmosphere, terrific service and price. I had the tempeh sliders, which were nicely seasoned and very good, and kale slaw. There are 2 kinds of kale side salads. My friend had the falafel in pita, which she liked. Very good beer selection too. Nice, neighborhood place in quaint Bellevue, just across from downtown Cincinnati. I plan to return to try their other vegan items!
