Lots of lunch options - Edit
Have dropped in several times for lunch. Lovely little cafe with a nice garden in the summer. Usually have a vegan sandwich and a special, clearly labelled. I had the daal this time, very tasty and plenty of it.

Lovely lunch - Edit
Would highly recommend The Egg and Spoon where I had a delicious vegan caprese ciabatta and the nicest coffee with oatmilk I've had on holiday. There was also a choice of 2 vegan soups, vegan brunch and breakfast (mornings only for the breakfast). Lovely friendly staff

Great service after a mix up with the booking. Still managed to produce a lovely vegan afternoon tea, and an extra Prosecco to apologise for the mix up. Lovely staff too 😊

We really enjoyed our breakfast which has really nice extras such as avocado and proper, it was really tasty and you get a good portion. Several clearly marked vegan options on the menu.

I've been visiting this cafe for many years with my family before it was called the Egg & Spoon, and coming back again in recent years as a vegan certainly didn't disappoint. The vegan full English was absolutely delicious, bar the spinach which I don't like but that didn't matter because the rest of it was more than enough. The staff were very friendly too

Visited The Egg and Spoon today and really enjoyed the festive vegan loaded chips from the specials board. The food was delicious and we received a very warm welcome. Would happily return if we visit Filey again.

A number of clearly labelled vegan options which is more than you often get at British seaside places.

Downside is the ludicrous £1 surcharge for oat milk. Cows milk isn't free and I struggle to see any justification for £1 for a tiny portion of oat milk.

Nice cafe, quite limited vegan offerings but did have a small and large vegan breakfast which was reallu good. With spinach, hash browns, mushrooms, sauage, and beans and avocado an toast . They did charge £1 extra per person for oat milk, which is a bit on the dear side.

The vegan options have been reduced since the description was written. I ordered the houmous toasted sandwich in ciabatta, and it came with coleslaw. I asked if it was vegan, however the staff weren’t completely sure.

No longer do a vegan breakfast or brunch. We ordered the veggie brunch without the egg but it wasn’t great, very disappointing. A tenner for chips, 3 mushrooms, beans and very undercooked sausages. Think the cafe has changed hands so not great for vegans now. The chap said they will add more options in the future. There was a vegan panini on the menu and a Dahl.

We always visit this cafe when on holiday in Filey. It has great coffee and a nice selection of adults childrens vegan meals.
Read moreThis holiday we had large vegan breakfasts which are excellent value for money as they include a drink (I added a sausage and shared one with my toddler and my partner managed his all by himself!) We tried the wellington which was nice and the spicy chilli and chips was good as usual.
Toddler had vegan nuggets meal this time and enjoyed it.
The outside courtyard is a lovely seating area and they do take bookings if you are a large group.
Will be back again next time we're in Filey!

Really surprised at the lovely vegan options for children which are often missing from menus! I enjoyed a lovely burger and my little one had the meatless meatballs. Really lovely service too, although as expected you may have a little wait if it’s busy.
