staff lack knowledge, avoid if you're vegan - Edit

Tonight I was supposed to be having dinner at a local restaurant for a friends leaving meal. I expressed concerns about vegan food and my friend very kindly called the establishment and was assured that the veggie burger could be ordered vegan as long as you specify no cheese and opt for the gluten free bun. I also called (not knowing my friend has) and was told the same thing. All sorted. I wasn't especially looking forward to the food but was happy that there was a vegan option. When I arrived I ordered as I had been instructed. About 20 minutes later the waitress came over to ask if I was vegan because the bun contained egg. I explained what I had been told about over the phone and asked her to please cancel my order as I didn't want to just have the patty. She returned a while later with said patty and said it was on the house, but I said again I didn't want to eat the patty on its own (mushroom and spinach, I wasn't keen to begin with). I decided to sit at the bar area whilst everyone ate, feeling awkward to a) be surrounded by meat and b) not be eating. In this time I spoke to the manager to complain about being given misinformation he was incredibly insincere with his apology and I didn't feel he was particularly concerned about my complaint. In the end I left.

Additionally, for my friends who did eat, the service was terrible. The waitress admitted she had forgotten to put some of the orders through meaning people ate at different times. They were made to wait after asking for the bill and in the end had to pay individually at the bar as it never materialised and they wanted to leave.

Yuck... - Edit

I came here with my husband and friends a few months ago and asked whether anything was vegan friendly. I was told the mushroom burger patty was okay if I had it in a different bun (not brioche) and without cheese. Excellent... or so I thought. Firstly it arrived much later than my friends food and when it did arrive it had cheese on top! The waiter was very apologetic and sent it back to the kitchen. Then it came back out a couple of minutes later, which I thought was a bit odd seeing as they would have had to cook an entirely new one. Suspicious I opened the bun and turned the burger over and it had the remnants of the cheese slice melted onto it. 100% not okay. The waiter was mortified and sent it back once again asking for a fresh one to be cooked, by the time it arrived everyone at my table had finished their meals and the burger was pretty disgusting. It was cold inside and very rubbery and flavourless. The poor waiter told me I of course didn't have to pay, but this experience has put me off ever going back. The only good part of this trip was the waiter, I think the chefs may need retraining!

Pros: Friendly service, nice decor

Cons: Terrible food, chefs clearly don't understand veganism or all

Best (vegan) guacamole in the world! - Edit

They were more than happy to provide vegan options, the Nachos with guacamole and salsa are vegan - you can substitute the sour cream dip with another guacamole. BEST GUACAMOLE EVER.
There is also an option to get the pizza with no cheese, and real fruit slushies!

Pros: Happy to make up vegan options and substitute!

No vegan options - Edit

We had been recommended this place by friends that go here quite often. We always like to double check before we order and was told by the waitress that not one single meal was vegan. There used to be but they have changed the ingredients and not updated the website. It looks like my friends have been eating animal products unknowingly.
None of the bread is vegan. The sausages are quorn, not vegan.
We travelled quite a way as we had been told it was quite good. Not happy at all.

Pros: Friendly waitress

Cons: Not vegan, False info on website
