Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers house made vegan burger and a curry. Dessert is vegan ice cream as well as other vegan desserts that change weekly. Open Mon-Sun 18:00-21:00.
We were really happy with the vegan options here. It’s a rare to find a proper pub, that sells proper pub grub but also has a few vegan options in the Lakes!
The vegan “unloaded nachos” were beautiful. And the burger is so good. Highly recommend!
Sat outside in an area opposite the pub overlooking a river. Really pretty spot . We were told no need to book outside just turn up and wait for a table, but would need to book if you wanted an inside table . Didn’t have to wait got the last table outside . I had the homemade vegan chickpea and veg curry with rice and a naan which was really tasty . Husband had the homemade burger which he said was nice . Also hummus and olives on the menu . Dog friendly also
Having had no luck finding somewhere to stay in Kendal, we found this pub for an overnight. My husband messaged in advance to let them know I am vegan and they were prepared with a full vegan breakfast for me. The waitress explained that as they were unsure about the beans, they had put them in a separate bowl and also, when I asked if they had non-dairy spread for toast, she appeared with a dish of Flora for me. At the buffet were some great choices of fruits, nuts and seeds, Alpro yogurts and soy milk. We also ate there in the evening - I had a really good mushroom burger and there was a curry available too.

Not great - Edit
Incredible portion size of a very mushed substance between two buns. Tasted okay, but just not that appetising. We all left half at the end.
