Plenty of vegan options

We stayed for two nights at the drunken duck, stating on our booking that we’re both vegan. They automatically book you in for dinner each night of your stay, but we arrived late so only ate one main meal (other than breakfast). We were very pleased to see three vegan starters & mains to choose from; all desserts were also vegan! The menu items aren’t marked as vegan, but waiting staff confirmed for us. I had the spring vegetable salad (the almond ricotta was wonderful, I could have eaten a bowl of it) and cabbage for main. The main portions weren’t huge but overall perfect size for me in the context of the entire meal. My partner had the artichokes followed by asparagus and was equally pleased. I finished with yoghurt & rhubarb, partner had the lemon meringue (which he hasn’t had since going vegan, so was very pleased to be able to eat it)! We also shared a bottle of Sicilian biodynamic wine. They also brew their own kombucha (orange & ginger I think). The breakfast was perfect for me - they offer my favourite - vegan overnight oats (first morning with rhubarb, second morning with berries). They provided us with vegan spread for toast. You can also order a small selection of cooked items, with tomatoes, mushrooms & spinach on offer for vegans (no beans unfortunately). They had a big jug of oat milk for tea/coffee. Overall we had a fabulous stay and were really pleased at how much we had to choose from.

Pros: Several vegan options , Vegan overnight oats for breakfast, Friendly, quick service

Cons: On the pricier side

Perfection

Lovely food off the main menu. Once in a while for a special occasion. Rooms not worth the money though.

Sooo good.

Really enjoyed evening dinner from the 3 course menu. One vegan starter and main and a choice of all the puddings! Sticky toffee pudding was my highlight. Service was great and the decor was classy. Not pretentious. Drinks in the cosy bar after was nice too. A real treat!

Perfect for a vegan get away

We stayed in the hotel and had the vegan afternoon tea which consisted of a warm freshly baked scone with soya spread and what I believe was homemade jam, tea or coffee with oat milk. For dinner we had 2 of the 3 courses as we were so full, I had the meze for one which had an amazing cashew cheese dip, my husband had the tuscan bean soup. For main I had the mushroom with truffle chips and my husband had the chana masala. Food coma. For breakfast I was happily surprised th ever night oats with berries and almonds were all homemade, the granola also, we had the harrisa beans, potato cake and avocado which was so filling and delicious and there was a wild mushroom, garlic pesto and pine nuts on toast. We had a round of the sourdough toast which was immense.

Pros: Always vegan options , Delicious top quality food

Cons: Expensive
