Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers a vegan BLTA, avocado toast, quesadillas and tacos that can be made vegan or veggie, as well as the Tybee salad. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-9:00pm.
This is my fifth time in two years going to this restaurant. They always have something on the menu that has tempeh. However they never have it. On the fifth visit, they told me that they forgot to update their menu and take it off although the tempeh moves from item to item as an option with each iteration of the menu.
They have served me fries, a sad salad, and veggie tacos on several occasions. The veggie tacos were just a half a carrot with the stem attached and topped with diced mango in a tortilla.
I keep ending up here because out of town friends want to go, but I am swearing off the place for lying about the tempeh for years.
i literally tried updating this place over a year ago when i had to suffer here (because my sister wanted to go to a restaurant on the beach) to say that they had no tempeh but the HC team didn't put that in the description for some reason...
Well, we gave it a try. This place is awful. Only on menu vegan option was the Tybee Salad. It was lettuce with canned pineapple on it. Was suspicious of the dressing, but they assured me that it was “citrus” and coconut with garlic. It was not great. My vegetarian wife got the tacos with Tempeh, they were OK. Vegan would have been tempeh and salsa on a dry corn tortilla. Also, they allow dogs, but are really not that dog friendly.
I saw some reviews that they were out of tempeh for the TLT, but some other reviews praised it so I tried. Of course, when I ordered, they had no tempeh so it was a salad or straight veggie tacos. Pretty disappointing. Nothing on the menu was labeled as vegan either. I would say check to see if they have tempeh before you go.
They have removed the option for the TLT on the new menu, but now offer Tempeh as an option in the tacos. However, I was told last night that they meant to to take it off the menu. (They just got new menus…)
Seems odd, but I feel like this is a bait and switch.
There aren’t a ton of options but the ones we tried were good. I had the BLTA with tempeh and really enjoyed it. My partner for the tacos and they had great flavor. The fries were also perfect. Fun to be able to eat a meal on the beach.
Ended up here twice on a recent trip because someone in our party wanted to return. I was able to get the tempeh. Had the BLTA on one visit and tempeh tacos on the next. A decent option if you are with a group. I recommend sitting outside if you can; inside was noisy!
Mostly a pricy tourist seafood place but there is a vegan BLT with smoked tempeh and veganaisse that was really impressive. Fancy vegan avocado toast is also available. Tacos can be made vegan as well. The house margarita is amazing!

Yeah… This place is overrated. And I’ll bet they were out of the tempeh when you were there.

No tempeh - Edit
They didn’t have the tempeh the day that I went. Not sure how common that is. But without that they didn’t really have any vegan options.

Same thing has happened to me twice. I am beginning to believe there never was any tempeh.
