Lovely Pub, Better Grub - Edit
Wanted a nice place to get some lunch and the vegan options here were really impressive. Plenty in the way of starters, mains and deserts and really friendly staff to top it off. Highly recommend

The perfect burger - Edit
Firstly, I want to say that all vegan options at The Cyder House Inn are delicious. But I will say that above all else stands their burgers! These are some of the best burgers around! I would also say that their banana blossom is a unique flavour bomb that kept on giving! Add to that an incredible array of starters and, perhaps more importantly, desserts and you have you and your friends a wonderful evening!

Yum! - Edit
Would give 5 stars but can’t because it’s not fully vegan. Ate here today with some non-vegan friends and it definitely didn’t disappoint. Very generous portions of tasty food, lots of great vegan options and the staff were lovely. Will definitely return.

Superb vegan menu and excellent pub - Edit
We were staying near Guildford and just happened on this place by looking at the maps. Really glad we did as it has an excellent vegan menu and also is a very good pub.
Read moreOver a couple of visits we tried most of the vegan options on the menu and they were all consistently good. If they have the butternut squash and asparagus Wellington when you go it is definitely the one to go for.
Attentive and friendly and knowledgeable staff also helped make for a very pleasant experience.
Pros: Good vegan options, Good cider and beer, Friendly and knowledgeable staff

Yum! - Edit
Firstly I would give them 5 stars but because it isn't a completely vegan restaurant you can't.
Read moreThe food here is lovely! They offer lots of options and think outside the box rather than the standard vegan option. We had the seitan chicken (yes, they make their own seitan!) and tofu tacos. The seitan is some of the best I've ever had and I've been to tons of places that do seitan chicken and the tofu tacos are soooo tasty. I don't normally like tofu but it was super yummy. My partner had the chicken burger for main and I had the banana blossom fish and chips. Both were also amazing! Cannot recommend enough!

Outstanding food and customer service - Edit
This was my first visit, I was very happy with all the vegan choices. I had the crispy tofu ramen which was delicious. Very friendly service. The restaurant side where we sat on the right of the bar lacked a little atmosphere and the food was pricey but worth it. I look forward to returning,

Pricey but delicious - Edit
The menu here is superb and the food was delicious. Absolutely nothing to fault. Apparently they change the menu every 3 months to keep it fresh but the base of all their meals is vegan. Even their Sunday roast has vegan gravy and yorkshire’s, for everyone, and not just vegans.
Read moreThe staff were super friendly and really cared about their customers. Full marks.
If I was to be picky, I’d say that somehow it lacks a lovely fun atmosphere. It’s hard to put my finger on it as to why and when we were there on a Saturday evening it really wasn’t busy. Perhaps it was the pretty high prices or maybe because it’s not in a busy town?

The burger is really nice are the tacos. Lots of good vegan options though wouldn't recommend the fish and chips, too much batter and no flavour.

Great vegan offerings - Edit
Lovely country pub. Friendly and efficient staff. Great selection of vegan dishes not just a burger. I enjoyed Vietnamese sticky tofu bowl followed by a wonderfully rich vegan chocolate orange mousse while wondering if I should have chosen the vegan bread and butter pudding.

Thoroughly Enjoyable Experience - Edit
Finally managed to visit the Cyder House at Shackleford after seeing a few posts on Surrey Vegan FB group. Asparagus Arancini balls for starter, Vietnamese Sticky Tofu on a bed of kidney bean coconut rice.
Read moreGrilled Asparagus & Shiitake Tacos but I added their ‘chicken’ strips for a few pound extra which they were happy to accommodate.
Finished with an Affogato.
The food was excellent and when I asked for vegan Mayo I was told that they only have vegan Mayo. How refreshing!!
All the staff were so helpful and friendly.
Pros: Great choice of food options , They only have vegan Mayo for all, Staff very helpful
Cons: None, will be returning.

Good options. (Party was. vegan, vegetarian, and omni)
Read moreStarters - homemade seitan nuggets - even passed muster with meat eaters.
Mains - sticky tofu was fantastic sweet and spicy, butternut squash Wellington (possibly vegetarian rather than vegan IIRC).
Vegan marmalade bread and butter pudding was great also.
Pros: Varied and very good options for all courses.

Pub that doesn't have just the token vegan burger - Edit
One of the owners of the pub is a vegan and their menu reflects this with a decent amount of options for plant based items. The food and service is great!

Go for the banana blossom - Edit
The staff were lovely and quick with the orders. We shared the chicken burger and the banana blossom but the latter took the spotlight so def worth a try.
Read moreWe had the chicken strips as starters and they were nice but not needed considering the size of the mains - huge portions! Great find and a good spot considering there aren't that many vegan places around! Would def come back.

A countryside gem for vegans - Edit
We went for a Sunday roast and I was very impressed with the number of vegan options on the menu - 2 roast options (one faux meat and one wholefood plan option) as well as 'fish' and chips, moussaka, burger, etc. The roast was delicious and well priced at £13.95 and you get lots of side veggies and unlimited gravy. Deserts were also nice but a bit overpriced for what you get. Would have given 5 stars if I could.
