Delicious seitan burger

There have been some changes to the menu over the years based on previous reviews, but as of January 2024 there’s a vegan burger with a seitan patty which is delicious. We also had the vegan falafels as an entree which were great too. Lovely to find in such a remote spot, but wish there were more than one option of course. #Veganuary

Pros: Seitan burger patty, Vegan aioli

Cons: Pricey, Only one main meal option

Pretty decent vegan options

Quite a pleasant surprise in this remote location. The menu and prices on their Facebook page are unfortunately not updated, so the menu was slightly different from what I expected. However, still, there are a couple of starters and snacks, a couple of mains, and even a dessert to choose from. The burger I had was very decent and I believe you won't be disappointed with the other options either. The staff are nice, kids well catered for, and the views from outside the restaurant spectacular. Booking ahead recommended due to understaffing.

Nice spot on SH73

It was a surprise to find some vegan options basically in the middle of nowhere, and with amazing views. This place changed ownership recently and has been done up inside. The menu includes a vegan burger and fries (which I tried - very nice), also a pumpkin salad with tempeh, and the server said the pasta and soup of the day can be vegan too. Lots of drinks available, including multiple beers and two ciders on tap (Moa rhubarb and apple & Somersby, which are both vegan). (Review from August 2020)

UPDATE March 2021: menu has changed slightly and the fries are no longer vegan (they’re precooked in beef fat). Wedges are vegan (if you’re ok with them being cooked in canon oil alongside non-vegan products).

Pros: Gorgeous views, Nice vegan options in an area with very view, Friendly service

Cons: onion rings in the burger should be a side too!
