Gluten free and vegan options!

We ate here twice during our stay in Exeter. It’s conveniently located near our hotel (Mercure Southgate) and we loved the atmosphere here. I had the gluten free/vegan risotto for dinner and the gluten free vegan breakfast in the morning. I can’t do spicy so they replaced the harissa beans with regular for me.

Pros: Multiple gluten free/vegan options, Atmosphere, Location

Fabulous food and atmosphere

Fantastic restaurant inside an old hospital. Vegan options clearly marked (separate menu). The green veg risotto I had was amazing!! Friendly and helpful service too. Definitely coming back here next time I’m in Exeter

so many options!

loads of vegan and veggie options, and such a welcoming atmosphere too. I love it here in the winter, especially as they serve tea and coffee until late as well when all other cafes are closed haha.

Pros: vegan options - unique, affordable, open late

Well impressed

Got here with no booking on a Tuesday night, one week before Christmas. Always dangerous but no problem despite being busy. Nice touch to ask re dietary preferences / allergies so we could be given the right menu instead of having to check for a V or a ve!
I had the turmeric cauliflower, roasted vegetables with harissa and the garlic mushrooms. Oh and chips!
Really imaginative, tasty and fresh food. Great service from Charlie and her team, great food and good prices. What's not to like!

Great place to meet up

Would definitely go again
We chose the cauliflower starter and the tofu fish n chips. Both really tasty and well cooked, we were too full for desert!

Pros: Great food, Cool Venue , Knowledgeable Staff re allergies

Cons: Be awesome if they went completely veg / vegan , Gets busy and loud at times

Great atmosphere, service and adequate food.

We enjoyed our Friday evening dinner for four (only two vegans) - the staff were most attentive and helpful and the atmosphere (apart from the animal heads) was good. We enjoyed our meal from the vegan menu and although there was only one dessert we enjoyed the chocolate orange tort. Overall a very enjoyable evening.

Don't bother with food

Fine for cocktails, but animal heads on the walls goes beyond quirky into the realms of revolting in my opinion, and the food is nothing to write home about.

Good for brunch or lunch

I've been to Cosy Club in Exeter many times, and it is a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes it's great, other times not so, and once they had run out of vegan mains which was very disappointing, especially as I had booked a table for my boyfriend's birthday meal!

The vegan menu changes occasionally, but generally offers good options. There is much more choice if you go between 9am and 6pm, so I would advise visiting for breakfast, brunch, lunch or early dinner.

The tapas options are really nice, as is the vegan panini, but unfortunately there is only one dessert option which is a sorbet.

Staff are very friendly, and the building is interesting because it used to be a hospital; it feels really grand with very quirky/vintage furnishings. The location is a bit out of the way from the main part of the city centre, in an area better known for office buildings so it is popular with office workers for after-work drinks.

Pros: Vegan menu, Friendly staff, Interesting location and building

Cons: Hit-or-miss, Lack of vegan options for dinner
