Incredible breakfast!

Genuinely could have cried when I saw Cosy Club offer a full English that’s both vegan & gluten-free!! It so delicious - every item on the plate has so much flavour and was definitely worth the price. They have a large vegan menu, gluten-free menu and are great with allergens, the managers confirming orders themselves. Also really love that they offer menus without the calories listed next to items. Couldn’t recommend higher for a treat brunch out.

Pros: Incredible vegan (and GF!) breakfast!, Great with allergens

Really friendly service and happy to make whatever mods to the dishes you would like. Full-English breakfast for vegans!

Pros: Several full-English-type breakfast options, Delicious coffee, Great service

Cons: Remember to ask for the vegan menu

Poor and Basic Food

On my trip in Cardiff last year I tried The Cosy Club for breakfast for the first time. They had quite a few vegan options on their menu however, they were all very basic options. I went for the Vegan Sausage Bap/Roll which was literally a dry and burnt bread roll with one sausage inside. My mum ordered the avocado on toast which was vegan and it came with two small and hard pieces of bread and a small portion of avocado on top. It’s not very cheap here either and the quality of the food is really bad. There’s no flavour in any of the food and it’s all so basic. The restaurant inside is nice and the staff were friendly but the food was so poor that we wouldn’t go back. It’s put me off trying any of the other branches since but maybe I will return to try their vegan evening menu.

Pros: Some vegan options, Nice decor inside

Cons: Bad quality food , Basic options, Tiny portions

Lovely meal

Had a fab meal with friends here. There were several vegan options and I had serious food envy. Service was a bit slow as it was busy but a nice atmosphere.

Pros: Several options, Good atmosphere

Cons: Service can be slow when busy

Great vegan menu for alternatives

I had the beyond meat burger - thought it was very good as a patty but thought the overall burger was a tad basic - i understand though that they want it to be generic and to everyones preference.
The vegan fish and chips look good - definitely trying that next.
The cheesecake is phenomenal.

Pros: Dessert, Variety

Cons: Expensive

Weekday lunch

Only found this place through happy cow and I’m certainly glad that I did.
Decent selection of gluten free vegan options, I went for the ‘fish’ and chips and it was by far the best meal I’ve had in a restaurant since changing my diet. Great service and nice venue, would definitely recommend

Needs Improvement

1st time I went there with some non vegan friends. I ordered the vegan burger with chips. I much appreciate that they have a Vegan menu however this was a poor standard of a burger which I would not recommend. It was too sweet and not flavourful to my liking. I only liked the chips.

Pros: Vegan menu

Cons: Serves meat and dairy, Food is not tasty.

breakfast at Cosy Club

i would put 5/5 stars but as it's a place wich serves meat I can't. We took a lovely breakfast (Vegan Breakfast) from their vegan menu and got: baked beans, spinach, mushroom, tomatoes, falafel, potatoes and toast. Tasted great. Service was very good. They have soy milk as an option as well!

Pros: good food, good service

Oh dear!

We thought this would be a good place to eat, as it is in one of the central malls in Cardiff... but oh dear! The restaurant is at first floor level, so you can't see what it's like from the street... you go up steep stairs and then find that it is full of leather armchairs with, as described before, some animal heads... the lighting is very low and there is quite loud 'background'.. maybe that should be 'foreground' music... worst of all the 'vegan/vegetarian menu' is very very rudimentary, with just about the only vegan dish being a kind of burger, where you paid extra for vegetables, etc.... I started to feel ill, and left.

Pros: location

Cons: very little choice for vegans/veggies, horrible, leather-based decor, Relatively high prices

used to love it here

has its own special menu. unfortunately service and standards have been going downhill. had been served dairy eggs etc. although apologies free meals and drinks the standards used to be higher. when the correct food did come it was tasty enough. a shame really. however it won't stop me from going back again. some people are put off by the interior due to the animal heads. the place also sells meat. so be prepared for dead animals everywhere.

Excellent!

Would have given it five stars but the app won't let me as it has meat options. The food was amazing I had the vegan falafel sandwich and it came with fries and coleslaw. It was tasty and left me feeling full. The staff were lovely and service was very quick. The decoration was nice and the open plan design means there's no feeling cramped.

Pros: Separate menus for vegan and gluten - free options, Resonably priced

Yummy Beet burger

Went today and was very happy with the beet burger (didn't try the panini because of the disappointed review below)The burger crumbled a little in the bun but it was moorish and so were the chips. The sorbet and the Dark Chocolate and ginger torte from the bar were also lovely.
The first waitress who met us, I felt, seemed amused at the vegan couple but the lady who served us put that out of my mind. She was helpful and approachable.

Really didn't like the dead heads of the animals on the wall but I suppose the more vegans who go the more out-dated that decor will become ;)

Disappointing food, overpriced, bad service

I was here with my (non-vegan) boyfriend and I tried the Vegan Panini and he had the Macaroni cheese (vegetarian). He liked his food but I was very disappointed with my food. I payed £6.50 for two small paninis, small amount of fries and a tiny bit of salad. The paninis were supposed to be filled with hummus but I felt like the hummus was used to butter the bread and it really didn't taste much at all. The fries tasted fine but after finishing the meal I left feeling hungry.

The environment was somewhat cozy but very crowded. The staff seemed rushed and wasn't all that friendly or service-minded. The only positive thing I can think of is that they do have a separate vegan menu so hopefully one of their other dishes might be a bit more satisfactory.

Pros: Separate vegan menu

Cons: Disappointing, tasteless food, bad service, overpriced
