Vegan options in Kasane

In a place with limited vegan options we were excited by this menu with several marked options.

We had the vegan curry of the day and the chickpea burger. The vegan curry (lentil, ask for without yoghurt) was definitely vegan and delicious. The chickpea burger appeared to be vegan but the salad came with feta cheese, and I think asking for the burger vegan was missed so best to make sure the waitress/waiter understands this. The brioche bun also definitely had an egg glaze.

So, if you’re looking for 100% vegan food best to avoid the burger and go for the curry or wrap.

So good I went three times during my visit to Kasane. Really lovely garden setting, quite a few vegan dishes marked on the menu. I had the wrap, they also had curry and vegan bean burger.

Hidden Gem

You can’t really see the place from the car park, but when you do it’s a lovely African looking cafe / restaurant. And it has a pool. Lovely food all freshly cooked and good prices. We went twice. Fist time I had a cheese and tomato toastie which came with a little salad and chips. They had vegan salad dressings and mayo. My husband had an omelette with toast which was very good. My friends who are vegan had a vegan wrap and chips. On the 2nd visit I had the vegan curry which was aubergine and chickpea delicious. Lovely setting, friendly staff and food all freshly cooked. Also had a gift shop.
