No options at all

Visited with a group of friends-we had booked way in advance and given prior warning that a vegan was in the group as there were no options on the menu at all (limited even for vegetarian).
They were lovely and said they could accommodate but didn’t say with what. When I arrived I asked what the vegan option would be (everyone else in my group had pre-ordered)-this seemed to spark a mad panic in the kitchen with the chef and waiting staff in a bit of a visible flap. When mine came it was undercooked packet ravioli (not convinced that there wasn’t egg in the pasta) and a seemingly homemade tomato sauce with some kale stirred through. Tasteless and inedible. £20 for the privilege.
Don’t bother unless you have to.

Bish Bosh - Posh Nosh

With only one vegan starter, main and dessert we were going to walk. Ending up stayed for dinner after reading the reviews.

Vegan Kohlrabi £7. Pickled Jalapeno, Chestnut, Elderflower Vinegar and Chive. Very unusual with incredible flavours unlikely anything we’ve had before. Wonderful.

Vegan Field Mushrooms £16. With Whipped Tofu, Baby Gem Lettuce, Toasted Seeds,
Pumpkin Seed Pesto and a Potato Terrine. It was cooked to perfection. Whipped tofu was a new one and was amazing. The whole dish worked and the potato terrine was moreish.

Vegan Slow Roasted Harissa Aubergine £17.
With Fennel, Crispy Gnocchi, Lime Mayonnaise, Coriander, (turned vegan without the mayo). The aubergine had a real kick but was balanced and I’d steal the recipe if I could.

Greens £3.50. A big bowl of lovely veg to add to both main dishes. Perfectly cooked with a bite.

Would I recommend? You’d need to check the menu to make sure it had what you wanted.

Would I return? Yes, as long as there’s a vegan starter and main I liked.

Pros: Posh vegan options, Amazing flavours

Cons: Expensive - but it’s worth it, Not a massive choice so look before drive
