Bland bummer

I was excited about this place because it's pretty close and they have a non-tofu protein option which is somehow pretty rare for Thai restaurants in Portland these days (we miss you Vege Thai). Unfortunately this was some of the blandest Thai food we've ever had; drunken noodles and gra-pow was oily and under-seasoned, tofu salad rolls were dry and flavorless. The seitan ("soy gluten") protein option was just plain Verisoy chunks that tasted like they were rehydrated in dish water. Check out KaTi or PDX Thai Dining instead.

Mega Mix-up

I ordered Fresh Rolls and Gra-Teim. The Fresh Rolls were indeed fresh and served with peanut sauce. Before I took a bite of my entree, the employee returned to tell me the cook had accidentally made Gra-Pow (soy sautéed with spicy holy basil, serrano, and garlic spicy brown sauce) instead of Gra-Teim (soy sautéed with garlic and pepper, brown sauce, and seared broccoli). They apologized for the mistake and asked if it was okay. I said yes, as long as it was vegan. They confirmed, but then asked if the fish sauce was okay. I said no, so they removed it, but did not bring a vegan replacement. Unfortunately, the dish was too spicy for my low tolerance, so my partner traded me his Pad Thai (no egg), which was very good. The employee apologized again and gave us free Chinese doughnuts with chocolate sauce. They confirmed it was all vegan. It was tasty, so I hope it was actually vegan.

Note: There are two entrances. Order upstairs and seat yourself.

Warning: There is a fishtank.

Pros: vegan section on menu, quick service, big portions

Cons: fishtank, served wrong dish, served fish sauce
