English chip shop with plenty of vegan offerings

Multiple vegan options (labelled too 👍🏻).

We had 'chicken' pie and 'steak' burgers, also mushy peas, chips. Good size portion, proper burger burger and delish.

I'd've said a 1💰 rather than the 2 it says next to the name - we thought it was very reasonable. Also the first place we've had a complementary tap water with ice.

They had vegan cheese in the burgers and vegan mayonnaise 🥳 I'd be delighted if my local chippy in England had that, so that would have earned a 5th star in my book if Happy Cow would have let me (only for fully V places).

They were so friendly, and our server was vegan and told us about a vegan place (Indigo) that we can't wait to try!

They sell magnums and I was informed they have the vegan option when she can get hold of them.

(Confolen tips: in the summer hols there, the English run charity shop Hope and the lntermarche both sell Violife, and the Intermarche also has tofu, loads of vegan milks and accidentally v biscuits in the bio section. Their Bio store has v bits too)

A little taste of home!

We ate at the Chip Shop in Confolens after visiting the Reclamation Yard nearby (also recommend!). It was such a pleasant surprise to find vegan options in a rural French village! There were vegan pukka pies ('chicken' or 'steak') and also vegan burgers and I think sausages, plus the chips and mushy peas were all vegan. We had the pukka pie, chips, peas and a gherkin and it was absolutely delicious. There are a few tables outside and we thoroughly enjoyed having lunch there. Staff were really friendly and we'd definitely return! It's about an hour from where we now live in France (originally from the UK) and we'll definitely visit again for a treat and taste of home!
