The Chickpea
Serves meat, vegan options available. Opened Apr 2014 this is a hummus bar where you customize what you'd like by choosing the bowl, wrap, or salad, then add fillings like falafel or hummus plus additional toppings like olives and peppers. Alternately, you could have a platter made of "extras" like quinoa salad, tabouleh, hummus, falafel, etc. Also sells bulk foods like organic chickpeas and red lentils as well organic supplements like maca, and packaged

Great Location - Edit
Yummy wholesome food, very vegan friendly and priced right. Love the red pepper hummus! This is an easy walk from the City Place mall area, convention center, and a bunch of nearby hotels.
Pros: good location, fast, good value
Cons: parking isn't easy downtown

Nice Veg-friendly restaurant with lots of vegan options on clematis - Edit
They had me at clearly marked vegan items; the only restaurant on Clematis to have such markings. Also marked on the menu, vegetarian items, items with nuts, and gluten free items. Once you get a handle on the menu, you chose if you want a salad, wrap, or bowl with a base of rice (basmati or brown rice combined with lentils) or greens as a base (lots of greens options from spinach to a super greens mix of kale/watercress/cabbage) and then add a "protein" of hummus, falafel, or organic marinated tofu, choose flavors such a various hummus options, baba ganoush, or mhamara pesto. Finally, lots of salad like toppings including seeds, herbs, kalamata olives, beets, cucumber/tomata salad, avocado, etc. There is also one pre-made vegan bowl on the menu and standard vegan falafel bowl/wrap on the menu.
I loved that there are so many customizable vegan options. The food is good, and I left feeling like I had a good, clean, healthy meal. The interior is modern and clean. The seating space is small but comfortable. Fresh herbs adorn the tables in natural clay pots. They have infused water and lots of tea options. Also organic, local kombucha in the cold case and local raw-vegan chunky-dunky cookies in the cold case.
