I love coming here as I know I always have decent options (even on a Sunday for roasts!) I had the fish and chips and the steak and chips recently and was really impressed with both. Very generous portions, very flavourful and brilliant service from the friendly team 😋

It’s so rare to find a non-vegan pub with so many vegan options - half the menu was vegan with really yummy typical pub meals such as sausages & mash or steak & chips. They also had a good few vegan desserts and milk options. Love staff and good service.

Normally it can be hard to find vegan options at pubs but there were loads of options and the waitress said they could adapt more. I had the vegan fish and chips and it deffo hit the spot

Visited in June 2024 - amazing to see so many vegan options on the menu! Food was generally good - slightly smaller portion sizes than previous and prices now a bit higher but would go back for a special occasion.

Many different vegan options to choose from. I had roasted aubergine and red pepper dip with bread to start and 'chicken' souvlaki for main. Sadly too full for a dessert so just a very tasty espresso for me! I honestly thought there was a vegan in the kitchen as the food was done so well with a lot of thought and effort made. Definitely want to return and try something else!

A pub I’ve driven past loads of times and finally booked a table for a birthday. Was really pleasantly surprised to find loads of vegan options on the menu, lots of good variety. Felt like a lot of effort had gone into it. Staff were very attentive and vegan aware, food was good and prices were reasonable. Highly recommend, will be back.

A proper authentic countryside pub. Decent vegan menu with lots of variety. Options include ‘chicken’ leek and mushroom pie, to tempura cod and chips, and a Seitan Sunday roast.

We celebrated a big family celebration here and loved they had great options for everyone. I was impressed with the number of vegan choices, including on the wine list! We even had some vegan kids in the group
Read moreand they were happy to make smaller portions for them and customized it as requested. We tried the veg curry pot pie, vegan Sunday roast, vegan burger, the fruit crumble with vegan ice cream, and many vegan starters! We liked everything and would be happy to return!

Good choice of food for everyone, and specifically a good choice for vegans. I got to eat my first vegan pie and it was delicous. They've gone the extra mile, with even vegan mayonnaise available. The only downside was it did feel a little pricey, but that could just be down to the price of everything going up. Would highly reccommend, and would suggest you book in advance.

It’s a good thing we’d nothing planned for the rest of the day following our meal. I had to have a lie down! I can’t remember the last time we ate so much! Restraint was out of the window as it was our friend’s birthday. 😅

Our go to place to eat - Edit
We eat at The Chester Arms regularly. The vegan menu is great so you never need to compromise. The vegan options are well thought out rather than the lazy options you get at some places.

Incredible choice of vegan food. I had the vegan garlic mushroom kiev which was amazing. Also tried the vegan cod and chips which was delicious. Very friendly staff, who are very knowledgeable on the vegan menu.

Only place to come locally for a banging vegan roast. We also had the lamb skewers to start and they were absolutely incredible, you need to try if you miss the taste of real lamb!

Travelled over an hour today in the pouring rain to meet friends here and it was well worth it. Very covid secure , small marquee with heaters . The food was lovely, imaginative and not the usual vegan pub food , very impressed, would recommend and definitely visit again .

Brilliant vegan menu with loads of choice, had the vegan roast dinner and my partner had the mushroom pie we also shared the Brussels sprouts everything was amazing. Food was so delicious, staff where lovely and welcoming and the pub was beautiful. Can’t wait to go back again and feel very lucky that I live 5 minutes from it, lovely hidden gem
