You Know What You're In For - Edit
The Cheesecake Factory is known for being a place where upper crust White moms and daughters can drink girl drinks and eat pumpkin cheesecake after a hard day's shopping at the mall, and that's pretty much exactly the vibe of eating at a Cheesecake Factory at the King of Prussia Mall. Despite being one of the world's largest shopping malls, with a diverse clientele, KOP actually has surprisingly sparse vegan offerings. Still, if your palate is at all adventurous, you can definitely do better than Cheesecake Factory.
Read moreI went in here with a mission, and that was to experience for myself the dish known as "Evelyn's Favourite Pasta." Evelyn, if you don't know, is a real person--the cake baker who founded the restaurant so more people could enjoy her signature desserts. We love a girlboss! Evelyn's Pasta also made an appearance in the chronicles of Amberlynn Reid, albeit not as infamous as the chain's orange chicken. Yes, I am one of those girlies who somehow got influenced to come here by watching the worst possible advertisement for this restaurant. Sue me! Like Aunt Tammy!
Evelyn's Pasta is basically pasta primavera with a cuter name. It's got penne and a bunch of vegetables including asparagus, tomatoes, and broccoli. It's also got butter, cream, and, apparently, garlic dip is mixed into the sauce. Which I guess is how, like most menu items here, it clocks in at over a thousand calories for a serving.
I had been under the impression it was a fairly easy dish to make vegan, but the server had to seriously think about it, run back, confer with at least one chef, and then return to me for clarification on what I wanted. Don't get me wrong, the service was actually pretty good here, and I felt like they were genuinely trying their best to be accommodating, but you could tell they didn't get this kind of request every day, and they were kind of struggling with it.
In the end, though, I did receive the pasta, and it was...honestly fine. The vegetables in it were actually pretty tasty, with the tomatoes and garlic being quite flavourful. They basically just tossed it in olive oil to replace the sauce, which was fine, albeit pretty one note. I asked if they could add balsamic vinegar or use a vinaigrette dressing of some kind, but they said no. Despite the enormous menu here, they don't have any. Strange.
Oh, and did I mention they have literally ZERO vegan desserts? Least of all a vegan cheesecake?!

Go for happy hour! - Edit
Kung Pao cauliflower is very good... Make sure to get it without the ranch to be vegan. They're pretty good at accommodating requests/changes. I always go for their happy hour for discounted cocktails and appetizers.
