Edit: came back to give them another try. This time I ordered my drunken noodles vegan, but not gluten free. I think this was the main issue last time - instead of using a gluten free soy sauce, they omitted it completely. This time it was a lot better, way more savory, and included all the veggies - including broccoli and green beans. They’ve also since made their lunch special $10.35 😁
I added this business to happy cow before they opened, after I emailed the owner to find out if they’ll accommodate vegans. She said they would. My husband and I ordered our dishes with no egg, and vegan and gluten-free. We specified with the waiter twice that both dishes should have no egg. Both dishes came out with egg. They promptly remade them both, but curiously my Kee Mao came out the second time with different noodles, not the wide flat rice noodles that I’m used to (and that came out in the first dish). The noodles were tiny and curly, like ramen noodles. I questioned it, and was told that I should have ordered drunken noodles, and not Kee Mao, and that Kee Mao has these noodles. I’m unsure why the first dish had the other noodles, but whatever. I finally got what I was somewhat expecting on the third try, which I felt bad about them having to remake it so many times. I ordered it with veggies, but all that came in it were large chunks of carrots, bell peppers, and onions. No broccoli or anything else, which isn’t a huge deal. The main complaint I have is the lack of flavor. It could be because I ordered them gluten-free? It was somewhat sweet and I was expecting savory. I ordered them medium and it came out with no spice, which they probably forgot the order because they had to remake it so many times. I’m trying to grant them some grace as it was literally their first day open, and there are likely kinks to work out. The other thing is that their lunch special, unlike most places, doesn’t have a lower priced entree - it just includes a salad and a soup (again, not impressed, and I’m pretty sure the soup had beef broth in it), each dish costing $13.95. So with tip, we ended up leaving there paying nearly $40 for two entrees (and water), and being severely disappointed. Gave an extra star for the owner being very kind and accommodating.
