Vegetarian cafe located inside the Castle Climbing Centre, near Manor House station. Sign in at reception to go to the cafe, instead of paying a fee to climb at the centre. There is a permaculture garden onsite, which provides fruit and vegetables for the cafe, and processes food waste to use as compost. All ingredients are locally sourced and organic, allergens are clearly labelled, and staff use vegan-specific chopping boards and utensils. There is a variety of vegan options on the menu, which change from day to day. Could include soup, at least one main course, a range of salads, hummus and sourdough, jacket potatoes, beans on toast and sandwiches. Has house-made soya-based vegan cheese. There are also house-made vegan cakes and hot and cold drinks with oat, soya and coconut milk available. Also has vegan beer. There is a 10% discount if you bring your own cup for coffee; cash and card (£1 minimum) are accepted. Removed November 2024: Limited vegan options.

Very disappointed in the choice! - Edit
They had nothing vegan for pastries, cakes or lunches, the only option was a small couscous salad. All the cakes had dairy in them… it’s gone severely downhill for vegan food! (Climbed for 5 years here)
Read moreWe spoke to the server and she said they don’t make anything in house anymore and get their food from a supplier which is not vegan.
sad!!

Bomber - Edit
Really great cafe and connected to such a great climbing gym. The selection of food is always really interesting and hearty. The kind of stuff that gives you good energy for climbing. I also love that they use vegetables from the garden out back. The only way it could be better is if it were fully vegan.

Really good burger, lots for vegans - Edit
I came here for lunch today in between some climbing at the centre and was really impressed that the hot food and salad options were all vegan. I went for the burger which was extremely good and filling, but the salads all looked very good too.

Fantastic! - Edit
I absolutely love this place. Always come here after climbing. Super friendly staff and delicious home made comforting food. I always have their salad selection (some of it grown in their garden) with a sausage roll. Their sausage rolls are absolutely delicious. I would say it's mostly vegan. And they do amazing cakes too. Definitely recommend!
