It was ok - Edit
The restaurant has a separate vegan menu (which you have to ask for) with options outside of the usual burger and falafel based dish. We had the spring rolls and mushroom dishes as starters, both had the linguine for main and then the crumble and cheesecake for dessert. All dishes were presented nicely, but none of them were anything special.

Ok food, but overpowering smell of seafood - Edit
Regardless of what the owner claimed when we mentioned it - this is most definitely a seafood restaurant. Make no mistake about it. Most of the tables were having some form of seafood, and they seem to sell a lot of mussels. They have a variety of seafood on the menu and a nautical theme.
Read moreThey have a decent vegan menu, with some of the usual suspects (burger, curry, etc.) with a couple of different options. The owner said it is because there is a clear demand, which is good to hear. But the food was only average sadly. My main, the Mediterranean tart, is served with what is basically a base pasta sauce, which didn’t really go with the dish. I didn’t order my dessert with custard, just ice cream, but it came with both. Custard and ice cream is an odd combination. Could do with some input from a long term vegan on their menu.
Unfortunately, because of the amount of seafood they sell, the smell is overpowering. One dish which was served to a neighbouring table smelled so strong it made us feel sick. Fortunately we were waiting to pay the bill when this happened, so we were are to leave quickly.
Pros: A decent vegan menu, Owners have a good understanding of veganism
Cons: Food is only average, Flavour combinations don’t always work, Overpowering seafood smell

Full vegan menu! - Edit
They had a full vegan menu, 7 starters, 7 mains and 5 deserts (also vegan wine!!!) Food was lovely and the waiter was friendly. No complaints here but if I was going to be *really* picky I would have loved to have had some vegan cheese with my spaghetti veganaise!

Best place in town! - Edit
We were spoilt here with a whole vegan menu! Garlic mushrooms to start, mushroom and asparagus linguine and the vegetable tart for main, and chocolate fudge cake for dessert. All very tasty. I would say this was the best place we ate in Barmouth for quality and options.

Read moreFound this place almost by accident, as most other restaurants were fully booked with RishiDishi customers ... they don't advertise it, but they have a full vegan menu with five dishes each for starter, main and dessert. As a bonus they have a selection of bottled beers from the superb Great Orme Brewery.
Excellent service, very good food, will definitely visit again when we return to Barmouth.
Pros: Lots of choice, Really good service
Cons: Serves meat

Husband and wife team with staff. Husband is the chef. Full three course vegan menu with many choices.
Read moreMy stuffed red pepper was cooked to perfection. The best food I have had this holiday. Delicious. I can’t speak to highly of this restaurant.
I can’t find an option on the Happy Cow website to give it five stars which is what it deserves. Four stars is the maximum available. Shame.

Amazing vegan food - Edit
Stumbled upon The Captains Table while looking for somewhere to eat and what a find! They have a complete vegan menu, with 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 desserts. No chickpea slop, no fruit salad. Real home cooked food. I highly recommend the mushroom and asparagus linguine and the choc and orange steamed pudding with custard. They also supply vegan wine. It was outstanding food. There was a vegan special too coz we booked. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive. Will definitely be returning.
