Amazing cake - Edit
We popped in whilst waiting for our train, and after a right soaking in the rain we were looking forward to a coffee and nibble. Not much on menu that is vegan but the breakfast did sound amazing. Don’t know why many places this one included feel vegans only eat curries for lunch 😂 We opted for the carrot cake and wow! Nicely spiced and the icing soft and fluffy not sugary like one normally gets, coffee was super though pity they feel the need to charge .50p for vegans/dairy allergy customers. Would recommend the carrot cake for sure!

Ripped off with 50p surcharge for oat milk - Edit
Ordered an Americano coffee and vegan carrot and walnut carrot cake. Was appalled to be charged a whopping 50p extra for the oatmilk. I knowca few cafes that charge extra for a milky coffee like a flat white, but others tend to absorb the cost of oatmilk with Americano in the price as its usually 15mg or so of milk.

Pros: Carrot n walnut cake was moist

Amazing vegan breakfast - Edit
I was pleasantly surprised by the breakfast here! It was so tasty, I would definitely recommend. Staff also informed me that the butter was flora when bringing the food over which I appreciated as it's often one my concerns when ordering from a place serving dairy.

A few vegan options - Edit
Called for coffee and was pleased to see they have vegan cakes and vegan breakfast. The decaf coffee was delicious too so would definitely revisit.

Superb cafe - very accommodating - Edit
So I felt the need to leave this review because this place were just brilliant.
Read moreYes they don’t have a full vegan menu, but there were several things on the menu that they were able to alter to work for me and were so kind in helping me out.
My husband is vegetarian and he had the choice of 7 or 8 things on the menu, so we were both happy - even my picky friend (non veg and non vegan) was happy with the choices and comes here a lot.
Overall lovely ambience, great service and they even let our little dog in too. All in all 5 stars from me.
Pros: Superb sevice, Great vegetarian choices, Able to make many dishes vegan
Cons: Busy

Vegan options must be requested - Edit
Situated on the first floor of Lakeland’s kitchen supplies/homeware store. Beautiful scenery with floor-to-ceiling windows. 🌞 The staff were friendly and the café was very open, clean and comfortable.
Read moreA lot of the meals include gluten-free bread options which is great! The menu is also very clearly labelled and I was glad to see that the alcoholic drinks were also labelled vegan (though only one lager is vegan!!).
Unfortunately I can’t get past the fact that the menu here has no dedicated vegan meals. ☹️ There is a veggie breakfast (served until 1pm) and smashed avocado that can both be *requested* vegan, but all this involves is removing egg and cheese and paying the same price as you would for the vegetarian version. You can add extras to your meal such as spinach or hash browns but these come at an extra cost as well.
I had the smashed avocado on sourdough with roast tomatoes and granola which was lovely overall. The avocado was seasoned well and the sourdough was absolutely lovely!! But the fact that it should have had feta and poached eggs with it left a bad taste in my mouth considering it still cost £9.50. This problem could be solved if they had vegan substitutions or a fully vegan option to begin with. What I did have was delicious so I bet they could make some lovely vegan lunches if they tried. I hope they add something!! 🌿
Pros: Friendly staff, Beautiful views and ambience, Majority of meals can be made gluten-free
Cons: Costs extra for oat/soy milk, Vegan options must be requested, Expensive
