Used to be good - not now - Edit
I've eaten here at The bull many time over the years. I was vegetarian for quite some time and there was often a good choice here when dining out with meat eaters. In recent years as a vegan I've also eaten here and had a fair choice of meal options.
Read moreOn this visit (May 25) there was only one vegan starter, one main and one dessert. It's sad that there used to be a few choices on the menu for non meat eaters but not anymore.
So we had the Spring greens Salad as the only main. It was nice enough however it consisted of what appeared to be a shop bought bagged mixed salad leaves, a few chickpeas and edamame beans, some pomegranate seeds and two pieces of blanched long stem broccoli. The ratio between the salad leaves and the other elements was out of kilter. Although the salad appeared big it wasn't particularly filling. It was priced at £12 and likely cost less than £4.
In addition the Eton Mess is marked as vegan, while the cheese board isn't marked as vegetarian. Given the lack of vegan options l find it hard to believe the meringue in the Eton Mess is in fact vegan.
We won't be returning anytime soon

Only if you like a salad - Edit
*Dog friendly *

Such a shame looks lovely, visiting on June (start of peak season) and the only option on the menu was a salad. I checked online and on here before visiting and thought fantastic, I'll have a burger... to be met with a salad only. Ended up leaving.

Some vegan options, tasty - Edit
We wanted to go to the tea shop which has lots of options but annoyingly they don’t allow dogs. We chose this instead and we were pleased with our avocado, hummus and beetroot sandwiches- lovely staff

Lots of Vegan Choices, Bit Pricey! - Edit
The Bull's Head Inn serves three courses of vegan dishes on an A le carte menu. The restaurant is spacious and thoughtfully decorated, and the staff were friendly and attentive. They do not take bookings for parties under 8 people, but there are plenty of tables inside and outside.
Read moreI had 1 course from here, which was their Vegan Cheeseburger for lunch. It was beautifully presented and was a big portion which was perfectly cooked. Their menu is quite expensive and although my burger was very nice I have had burgers of the same standard in other local establishments for far cheaper.
Pros: Vegan Starters, Mains, and Dessert Options, Vegan Dishes Clearly Labelled
Cons: Walk-ins Only, Expensive
