Great pub with good vegan options

Stayed here for 2 nights for the second time in a year. Busy pub at the heart of village life. All staff were friendly and helpful. On our second morning the soya milk and dairy free spread were already on our breakfast table when we came down, a thoughtful touch. Good vegan cooked breakfast, also other hot options such as beans on toast or sausage sandwich. Cereal, toast, jam, juice etc all available.

Ate here both nights, sampling the chilli, curry and burger. All meals were delicious and portion size was generous and good value for money. Tables cannot be reserved but both nights we didn't have to wait long for one to become available.

Chatted with the owner before leaving, and encouragingly he has plans to add more vegan options to the menu. We will definitely be visiting again.

Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Good size portions

Cons: Can't reserve a table

Friendly

Stopped here for a drink and packet of crisps (which are nicely marked as SFV). Owner really friendly. We were impressed with the menu for this area. Would consider eating or staying here in the future!

Disappointing Vegan Meal

Incredibly poor Vegan food at The Buck Hotel. Listed as Sweet and Spicy Tofu with Stir Fried Vegetables and Pilau Rice.
The Tofu was merely heated through and slimy, not sure what the carrots were about as they weren’t stir fried.
It was clear that the restaurant had a complete lack of imagination and understanding of a vegan diet.

Pros: Vegan Options

Cons: Poor Food, Lack of understanding of how to cook Tofu
