Vegan nights mean you can avoid meat - Edit
A vegan couple are involved with this pub, hence the amazing offerings on the lunch and dinner menus. They also do Sunday lunch and vegan evenings. Staff are lovely and passionate about what they do, decor is nice. Other Welsh pubs doing vegan are too friendly with their freezers, microwaves, fryers and processed meat alternatives. Had three courses here which was fresh, homecooked, hearty, healthy, unique, and well thought out gastro pub food. Look forward to supporting again soon.

What A Find! - Edit
Cracking traditional but quirky country pub - vegan options were absolutely excellent (right up there with the best we’ve had locally) and the service is bang on - attentive enough to be fast and efficient but also giving you just the right amount of space to enjoy your evening. We’ll be back!

Decent vegan menu - Edit
The Brit seems to be the popular choice with vegans around the Swansea area recently, so I paid a visit.
Read moreThe menu is pretty good - still not as much choice as you'd get from an all-vegan place, but a decent selection.
I had the fishcake to start and then the steak with cherry sauce for main, while my partner had the mushroom wellington. All very tasty and filling! Felt a little expensive, but happy to pay for a good meal. With two beers, the two meals came to £52.
The pub itself is quite cosy and the service was friendly, with a small parking area outside. Will definitely return.

Fancy but lovely - Edit
The wife and I went here for our anniversary tonight and it was a bit more money than we would usually spend but my god was it worth it. Mushroom scallops and fish less fish cake in picture (no picture of mains as I ate it all too quick)

Best Vegan food in Swansea area - Edit
They have a range of vegan options and by far the best food we have had in south Wales. Have taken non vegan family there too and they were also delighted with the options, so a nice combo. Highly recommend the vegan beef flank, and there's always a great range of desserts

Fantastic Vegan options! - Edit
The owners of the Brit pub are definitely trying to push the boundaries of fantastic vegan options within a traditional restaurant setting, again 4 vegan starters, 5 vegan mains, 3 vegan desserts, exceptional flavours, being brought out of vegan meat alternatives? This vegan fayre is all about fresh food cooked well! I think if they had a bigger vegan following they could even turn into one of the best vegan restaurants out there? I have added more pics of the food we had so you can see for yourselves how good this place is! You’ve got to try here!

Amazing Vegan options - Edit
We were very impressed with the amazing vegan options and great service we received. We had the Mushroom Scallops with pea puree and plant based bacon as a starter, it was delicious. For mains we had the Hoi Sin Noodles with vegan beef and Red Wine and Cherry vegan beef flank, they were both absolutely fantastic. For a dessert we got the Jaffa cake slice with vegan ice cream, I think they had another vegan dessert on the menu which was a lemon tart. We definitely want to go back and try their lunch menu and Sunday lunch menu which also look to have really good options.

Some of the best vegan food I've had. Dishes designed vegan not just modified other meals with items removed. Presentation beautiful and taste wonderful. Lovely staff and service too. Special bonus, vegan custard the standard and served to all! If you are in the area please try here. 5 star.

We love this place and its range of vegan food! The food is incredibly tasty and the owners are so lovely! The decor is hust beautiful and there's such a homely feel about the place. A Hidden Gem in Cwmavon - Edit
I'd give five stars if I could!
Read moreThe menu is packed with vegan and gluten-free options, each dish bursting with creativity and flavour, all at a very reasonable price.
From the moment we stepped in, the service was exceptional—warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable. The atmosphere was buzzing yet relaxed, and their dog-friendly policy made us feel even more welcome. The beer garden by the river is the perfect place to unwind and take it all in.
We were lucky to visit during the final week of their current menu. For starters, we had the vegan fishcake served with garlic mayo and tomato salsa—unbelievably realistic and delicious—alongside perfectly seasoned meatless meatballs on toasted focaccia.
Our mains - The stuffed butternut squash came with creamy lentils and new potatoes, while the plant-based Tuscan chicken was a showstopper. The sauce was so divine we couldn’t resist ordering extra bread just to savour every last drop.
To finish, we enjoyed a vegan crème brûlée that was both impressive and indulgent—a flawless end to an incredible meal.
We left full, happy, and already planning our return to explore their new menu. If you're looking for phenomenal plant-based food in a welcoming setting, The Brit is absolutely worth the visit. Bonus points for the wagging tails they welcome too!

Excellent Place For Vegans!! - Edit
The vegan menu is delicious especially the Sunday lunches and the homemade brownies and ice cream. The Brit staff are friendly and can not do enough for you, its also dog friendly so all the family is welcome. In the winter the log fire burns in the bar, this is a great area to eat after a nice winter walk with your dog.

A nice meal - Edit
There were a decent amount of vegan options with 5 pies, mushroom risotto, lasagne, and a tart as possible mains and a few starters and sides.
Read moreI enjoyed a lovely “swedey Todd” pie (by mr nice pie) with mash and gravy. The mash was a little bland and the gravy a little watery but overall a very nice meal. My mum had the vegan lasagne with chips and loved it.
We decided not to have pudding, but there was one vegan option of brownie and ice cream (I noticed that this is a new edition since January).
