Great prices, decent food, cool venue, friendly staff - Edit

This place is a dive bar. I mean that in a good way. The prices are great, the staff is helpful and friendly, and there's even a tardis! The food was affordable and worth the price. Not the best meal in town, but at $10 for a vegan burger, chips, and salad, you can throw in a beer and not break the bank. Oh yeah... Bingo!

Pros: Vegan menu, Cheap, Dive bar atmosphere

Cons: Not 100% vegan

Good food, grungy atmosphere - Edit

I went to the Brisbane Hotel with my partner for dinner. I'm always on the lookout for pubs that do good vegan meals, because my in laws are non-vegans who have a fairly 'traditional' Australian palate.

If I was judging only based the food, this place would be perfect. There's a good selection of vegan meals, and the meals are tasty, filling, and cheap. They also had a good selection of vegan wines labelled behind the counter, which is great for the drinking vegan, and the man behind the bar was very friendly and seemed to understand veganism well.

This is not, unfortunately, a place you can take your in laws. Grungy doesn't begin to describe it. Upon entering, I thought the flooring was some kind of industrial material, it wasn't until sitting down after ordering my meal, that I realised that it had once been carpet. Over many years it has been worn down by many feet and spilled drinks and has become compacted and... well... sticky. There weren't many tables, or chairs, and the ones that were there were very well used.

In summary, I'd definitely recommend this place if you aren't fussy about atmosphere. This place offers good food, but it's a long way from fine dining.

Pros: Cheap, Good food, Good location

Cons: Grungy atmosphere

lots of options - Edit

The decor is student drinking hole so do not go for the ambience. However, the food options are many for vegan daughters and their non vegan parents alike, all at student prices. Good variety of beers to accompany your meal and entertainment most nights as well!

Pros: lots of options, tasty

Cons: decor
