Brunch experience guarantees no repeat business - Edit

This place is listed as vegetarian-friendly and it is, provided that you eat eggs, cheese, and whatever else they put on the food without listing it in the menu description. Unfortunately this place was a nightmare for me as a vegan. I ordered the veggie cuban with no swiss or honey mustard since those were the only non-vegan ingredients listed in the description, and if it wasn't for the server mentioning "oh that's a great choice; the chef puts an egg on it too," then I would have gotten a sandwich with egg. After I stressed "no animal products, no egg, no dairy, no butter," the server responded with "oh well you know the egg isn't actually meat" as opposed to, you know, respecting my dietary restrictions.

I have no intention of returning, due to the lack of clarity on the menu and the server's rudeness when I was expressing my allergies/restrictions. Maybe if the restaurant lists all of the ingredients and trains their staff on how to not be rude to someone who was rightfully annoyed at almost getting an item I couldn't eat, then it might be worth a recommendation. But then again, it's not a vegan-friendly establishment despite it being vegetarian-friendly.

One Bland Vegan Option - Edit

They have one bland vegan option that only okay. They use to have a decent veggie burger a couple years ago but it's no longer on their menu. The restaurant itself is really cool, and in a walkable area.

Pros: Cool Restaurant

Cons: Bland Food

Inedible Food - Edit

I enjoyed the ambiance and our server was very nice. However, my food was inedible. I ordered the veggie burger and it was gummy and tasteless. It tasted like canned black beans that were mushed, formed into a patty and heated without adding any other ingredients. Bland and just gross. If you aren't even going to try to make a decent burger than just carry frozen Boca patties as that would be a HUGE improvement. I took my sad sandwich home, added a bunch of seasoning and some breadcrumbs for texture and baked it. We also ordered hummus and chips and they were OK. Someone in our party had a severe gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. Would go back to hang out with friends but wouldn't order food again.

Pros: friendly staff, nice ambiance

Cons: terrible food
