Vegan breakfast!!! - Edit
This was some gourmet stuff! Rice paper bacon sounds freaking weird but it was delicious and the closest thing to crispy breakfast bacon I've ever had as a vegan. The tofu scramble was very much like scrambled eggs. They have aquafaba whipped cream which was so yummy and such a great consistency! It was also inexpensive!!

It's hard to know where to begin with the Breakfast Club. The food is to die for: hearty and interesting, delicious, and obviously made with care by a genuinely nice mother/daughter duo. The environment is quirky and welcoming and lends well to a lazy, relaxing weekend brunch. Currently in the dining area is a large coloring table, a grand piano (anyone is welcome to play it as long as they do so quietly), shelves of games and books, and lots of brochures and fliers for the many groups and classes that are offered in the community space that the cafe shares. Walking in you will be welcomed by the warm smells of rice paper bacon and cinnamon rolls. You will be greeted with a smile and made to feel as though you are a regular, even if you're not.

The breakfast club is currently the only all vegan restaurant in town, and the food is made with love. Many of the cheeses and sauces are made from scratch! There is a solid regular menu to choose from and their specials are delicious. I suggest giving everything a shot but a few favorites are the BLT panini, biscuits & gravy, the variety of baked goods, and the seitan reuben! Check their social media for their hours (they change seasonally)

Awesome Vegan Breakfast - Edit
Really great, home cooked vegan fare. Great sized portions, reasonably priced. The breakfast platter was just what was needed - with amazing vegan honey mustard! And the aqua-faba latte is to die for! Hopefully they will move to permanent premises soon - they deserve to do well!

YUM! If you're vegan anywhere in the KC area you gotta try this place.I had heard this place was good but I was blown away by how good it actually was when I went there. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted exactly like my non-vegan favorite brunch foods. I look forward to going back again soon!!

Much-needed addition to Lawrence dining scene! - Edit
I've been to The Breakfast Club numerous times and I'm always impressed with the fresh, delicious food! I'm kind of obsessed with vegan brunch food, and theirs ranks among some of the best I've had at vegan restaurants around the country. You can't go wrong with any of the regular dishes, and the pancakes, french toast, and BLT panini that are frequently on the special menu are fantastic.
Read moreThey are currently doing a Kickstarter campaign to expand to a full restaurant, and I really hope it's successful. The owner is super nice, the food is excellent, and a dedicated vegan restaurant would fill a void in the Lawrence dining scene.

The food here is creative and delicious, and normally I expect to have to pay for creative and delicious, but the food is also very inexpensive. I would expect to pay 3x as much at FüD or a similar vegan restaurant nearby for the same thing. A small operation, but that's part of the charm of going. I'm grateful that a place like this exists on KU's campus at a price that a lot of students could afford.

Wonderful gem - Edit
I am so glad to have found this little gem during a short visit to Lawrence, and it is right across the street from The Oread hotel! You walk into a quaint university building, that honest to goodness has the best, peaceful vibes and are greeted by a genuinely kind and welcoming smile, then you are served wholesome, delicious and nutritious food to start your day. This is a true godsend in the land of nothing but eggs and bacon for breakfast. The Power Hash is incredible- sweet potatoes, quinoa, lentils, kale and beets. And - it's extremely affordable to boot! Wonderful find! I hope the good people of KU will support you and keep you going! Thanks!

This café is in fact the only vegan café in Lawrence. It's ideal for students at KU given its location and inexpensive prices. They have an impressive variety of choices such as biscuits & gravy, pineapple French toast, power hashes, burritos, sandwiches and other baked goods. Even have specialty vegan condiments like cashew queso.
