Nice, welcoming - Edit
I know the owner from the old days of the not so vegan bread blue in Sinchon. I am stoked he took his new business, Haelim now located in Hongdae with a bit of walking, in the right direction. He says no milk product is served in his shop.

Cozy vegan bakery - Edit
Haemil was the very first vegan place I have visited in Seoul (more than a year ago) and I still keep coming back. I celebrated my birthday there, enjoyed countless of chocolate muffins, brownies, scones and this specific sweet potato cake/bread. It is a perfect quiet place to enjoy a cup of coffee (with vegan soy milk), sit and study while nibbling on a variety of cookies.
Read moreBesides the reasonable prices for Soul, the owner is very kind and (always) offers an extra service. Whenever someone visits me from abroad I invite them there right away and no one has been disappointed so far - everyone, including me, loved Haemil.
Pros: Variety of goods, Place to sit, Amazing owner (he speaks English too)
Cons: Might be difficult to find for the 1st time

Worth visiting - Edit
Everything vegan and hella yummi, the staff is so super nice everytime! They keep the cakes in the freezer, which are like ice cream(great on a hot summer day), yet melt nicely without getting soggy.

Best Vegan Bakery!! - Edit
The food is amazing, place is cosy, and the owner and staff are extremely friendly! My non-vegan friends enjoyed the food and coffee as much as I did. Wouldn't mind walking here everyday for breakfast! Wish there was a bakery like this back home :)

great place - Edit
English was spoken when we went here. Great house of pastry items. Some of the coffee drinks are made with instant mix which isn’t vegan so make sure you ask. They label all the vegan drinks on their menu which is a plus.

Favourite Bakery - Edit
Absolutely lovely staff who will greet you with a smile and remember you. I'm slowly trying my way through all their baked goods and they have kindly gifted me something with every purchase. The pizza roll, the chocolate and also the chou cream bread, as well as the rice chocolate cookies are amazing. And to be fair, these are just highlights among a ton of delicious treats. The coffee and frappucinos are really good, too. I come here every few days and there's usually a bunch of locals around.

Must Visit! - Edit
I'm used to going to the Nogosan location, but I wanted to check out their second location in Seokyo. The food is just as good and the staff is just as friendly. The seating area is a lot smaller, but that shouldn't take too much away from the overall experience. I really love this bakery and would love to see them expand.

New branch of The Bread Blue - Edit
I used to go to The Bread Blue on a daily basis when I lived in Shinchon. So when I heard there was a new branch opening in Hongdae I had to check it out. They have all of the same great bread, drinks, and service that I've come to expect from this great vegan bakery. The menu is literally identical to the Shinchon branch. The staff, many of whom worked at the Shinchon branch, are friendly and speak some English. As with the original Bread Blue, all of the bread is vegan. Some of the beverages contain milk, but can be made with soy milk as well (the brand of soy milk that they use is 100% vegan). A few of the drinks are made with mixes that already have milk in them, but the staff is knowledgeable about this and will can let you know if something can't be made vegan. When I visited the interior was still being developed, but it still looks like it will make for a good study/meeting/date spot.
