If you have food allergies, don't come here! - Edit
My first time in Zadar, I came for dinner every day. This time, I took my 17-months old son and my mum. Everything was nice, until I asked if the dessert contained cashews, as my little son is severely allergic to them. The staff said they'd confirm with the kitchen, returned stating there were no cashews in the dessert I'd ordered and that was that. I gave it to my little boy, who soon after started scratching his eyes. I knew what was happening and asked another member of staff to call a taxi as my son was having an allergic reaction.

I sent them a message on Instagram and didn't even receive a reply. It's been about a week.
Apart from this experience, the food was tasty and the service was friendly, up until the point where I apparently gave a tip that was too low. I hadn't checked beforehand and asked the waiter what was appropriate, to which he said he couldn't comment. He brashly said 'thanks' and blanked me from then on.
Needless to say, we didn't return, which is a shame. I used to love this place and it's the only fully vegan place in Zadar that I know of.

Zadar's only vegan restaurant is a true gem. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of modern elegance and cozy comfort. The service is impeccable, with staff who are both attentive and passionate about the vegan cuisine.

For the quality of the experience, I found the prices to be quite reasonable. This vegan restaurant in Zadar is a must-visit, offering a delightful dining experience for everyone. Highly recommended!

We ate soup and the "meat" and the "fish" dish and were both very very good. I gave it only 4 stars because it's a bit expensive and the portions could be bigger (in my subjective opinion).

I would recommend The Botanist to everyone. The food was really great. They had a great selection of various dishes. Especially the starters and the desserts were to die for. The atmosphere which accompanied the delicious food, and the helpful and nice staff made this evening a special one. And for that experience, the price was also not bad at all.

Best vegan food in Croatia - Edit
Wow. This place has to be some of the best vegan food we’ve had. During our stay in Zadar my partner and I ate here about 8 times. We tried everything on the menu, and it was all extremely delicious. Our favourites were the Dik Dik (vegan steak), the pasta, the gnocchi AND the blue footed booby (large salad with soy nuggets). This salad was seriously amazing each time I had it, it never failed to impress. The tiramisu and cheesecake were omg moments for us!!!

Exceptional Vegan Dining Experience - Edit
I highly recommend everyone to try this restaurant! Everything was 100% vegan and absolutely delicious. We ordered a salad with homemade nuggets and pasta, and for dessert, we had a bounty-style ice cream. The ambiance and service, particularly from our waiter Budo, were excellent! We will definitely be returning.

Amazing vegan restaurant - Edit
The food here was so delicious and the service was very kind. The prices are slightly more expensive than other restaurants in Zadar but definitely worth it. To start, we received focaccia to eat with local olive oil and balsamic vinegar, which we were not charged for. The main dishes and dessert were also very delicious, especially the cheesecake. I can only recommend this restaurant and will come back for sure during my stay in Zadar.

Visited in mid June, so there was a limited menu. We enjoyed the food, but it wasn't exceptional. A little over priced in my opinion, but we are always happy to try and support vegan establishments. Maybe there are better options in main season with an extended menu. Service was great.

Always very happy to find vegan places that are a bit more upscale. Other reviews stating that the menu wasn’t big enough - I honestly think this is normal for a place like this, to ensure the quality of the dishes you serve. We definitely enjoyed our dishes (both taste and presentation) but have been to better fine dining restaurants. The staff was great, the chef even came to our table to tell about the food when I was curious about some preparation.

The food was amazing, served with a great deal of care. Chefs clearly love what they do. I went in early June, so there was a light menu, but I wouldn't let this put you off going if you get the chance. A little on the pricey side but you really do get what you pay for. The girl I had serving me was awesome. I have a broken wrist, so I could only use a fork, and she kindly offered to cut up my meal for me, which I was incredibly grateful for. I would 100% go back when I am not penny pinching.

We were very well received and really enjoyed the simili-fish and filet-mignon of the house. We had an opportunity to try a tasty local wine. Shoutout to excellent service and it was nice to sit outside and look at the sea on a sunny day.

Read moreFairly limited menu (in early May) but enough choice for each of us to get a starter, main & dessert that we enjoyed (especially the cheesecake)
Prices were reasonable, we paid about €35 each. I’ve certainly spent more for less (especially in London)
Location is a really short walk from Old Town along the seafront. Not in the main hustle & bustle so it was a really quiet & relaxed atmosphere & it was nice to sit outside.
We went at lunchtime on a Tuesday & didn’t need a reservation but I imagine you might do in the evening or closer to main tourist season.
Pros: Mains were a good size portion , Cheesecake was delicious , Service was efficient & friendly.

Thought the 2 appetisers I ordered looked creative but lacked flavour and taste. Tomato soup very bland served with a fried lasagne sheet!

Every person got a different dish and they were all amazing - we were thinking about all of them for a while after!
