3 Dalton Sq, Lancaster, England, LA1 1PP

Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers two clearly labeled vegan choices on the menu, which is rare and so needs support so they continue or even expand their vegan offerings. As of Aug 2016, dishes are carrot and cumin falafel with beetroot and chili hummus and kale crisps, which can be served as a starter or with sweet potato fries as a main course. Also 5 A Day tagine of courgettes, carrots, parsnips, red pepper, dates and spiced orange with cardamon, chilli, cinnamon with couscous. There is also a vegetarian platter which can be veganized by removing the cheese - Gordal olives, chargrilled vegetables, beetroot and chili hummus, sundried tomato and olive tapenade with foccaccia bread and dressed salad. Open Mon-Thu 8:00am-11:30pm, Fri-Sat 8:00am-12:30am, Sun 8:00am-11:30pm.

Disappointing - Edit

One vegan option, carrot and cumin felafels - main course portion was five small felafels and four pieces of pitta bread for £11.

Cons: Expensive

Vegan Cask Ale!!! - Edit

There's always 3, generally 4, vegan cask ales going. All taste great and I'm fussy.

The food is good and there's always a vegan option, but it doesn't change often so not somewhere to go for food regularly.

Pros: The beer, The beer, The beer

Cons: Limited vegan choice for regulars

Vegan Options - Edit

My visit to The Borough came about, purely due to the fact, they have a couple of vegan options on the menu and I like to support places that do.

The menu has vegetarian options too, in fact special of the day when we visited, was a salt and pepper tofu dish. I chose the carrot and cumin falafels, with beetroot houmous and sweet potato fries and it was an excellent dish. The falafels were moist and not at all dry, the fries were delicious, not greasy, but nice and crisp and it was a lovely lunchtime dish.

I will definitely revisit and hope they include more vegan options in the future.

Pros: Vegan Options, Vegetarian Options, Friendly staff & nice atmosphere
