Sunday Roast

If you love veggies, then this is a great roast. There was no vegan alternative to the meat, but the chef came out especially to ask me what I'd prefer to eat. He devised a special menu just for me. I had a warm salad starter that consisted of beetroot, green beans, wild mushrooms, and local green watercress with a balsamic glaze. This was followed by a main of roast potatoes, parsnips, and carrots with a bowl of brocoli. It was all perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the positive attitude of the chef who went out of his way to meet my needs. I would have preferred a vegan protein source to have formed the centre of my meal, but it was such a filling meal anyway that I didn't really miss it. I didn't have room for dessert, but the vegan option was a sorbet with fresh fruit.
