A place to return to - Edit
We had dinner here twice, and couldn't stop raving about the excellent flavours. We had a Sunday nut roast, the vegan stew with dumplings, and the curry (pretty spicy!), they were all delicious. So nice to see a whole vegan menu on the wall, desserts and starters included. Made with love. Really good selection of ales and ciders and a cosy atmosphere with a fire.

Nice pub, friendly staff, good food, lovely location. - Edit
Popped here for lunch on a quiet Monday after the Hardknott pass (now that's a bit grim at points) on the way to the coast.
Read moreVery friendly staff, spacious and decent pub. Decent enough beers including nice selection of alcohol free.
We had the bolognese and butterbean stew (it's homemade vegan chorizo sausage), followed by sticky toffee pudding and the rice pudding with mango sorbet. Bolognese was very flavourful, definitely recommend and the stew was also a treat. Sticky toffee pudding was a winner but rice pudding on that day maybe had a bit too much cardamon. The lesser option even if the mango sorbet is lovely.
This is a good vegan menu for the area, nice to have some options rather than just a chilli or curry.
Pros: A few more options than expected for the area, Friendly staff, Lovely pub and location
Cons: These are still generic options

Decent vegan menu! Friendly staff! - Edit
Went here with my family for a meal out and was able to see their vegan menu with starters, mains, and ice cream/sorbet deserts.
Read moreI asked about their wines if they knew they were vegan or not, but there weren't sure, however one of their staff was sooo helpful and stood there with me to Google the brands that they had to find a vegan red wine for me! She was so, so helpful and friendly!!
I got Bolognese and my partner got the tagine some falafel balls on the side. Everything was really tasty!:)

Lovely staff, gorgeous scenery and a few vegan options - Edit
We had the falafel hummus and sun-dried tomato ciabatta with chips (cooked in separate vegan frier) and our son had a vegan ice cream. Lunch, mains and dessert all had a vegan option, not tons of choice and falafel heavy but better than other places! Scenery and friendly staff make it worth it if you're in the area.

Cons: Not huge variety on menu, Red wine seemed expensive
