Awesome home style curry Of The Day - Edit
The best vegan homestyle Indian in Newcastle.
Read moreSuper cheap vegan food
They serve a large simple plate of rice and curry Of the day for $10
We have roast veg and chickpea curry.
It was mild and fantastic.
A side bowl of vegan Dahl was also huge and delicious.
The veggie nuggets, again were great.
Fast, efficient, delicious, and very affordable.
🙏
Pros: Veg and chickpea curry, Dahl

Rude staff, very bad experience - Edit
I had previously had a very good view of the Bhatki Tree, but I came in for dinner and told staff I'm allergic to soy and they told me I could eat a curry they had. While eating I found a whole piece of tofu in my food (which I bit into) & when my friend told the staff they came over to the table and stood over me while the man working there told me that it was not tofu in my food (trying to say I was lying). When he saw the tofu he admitted it was tofu, he offered no apology and said "it mustve just gotten in there, if it's that much of an issue you shouldn't come here" - while I understand mistakes happen, I was not offered any solution to the problem- a partial refund, or anything. The lady working there was very apologetic and kind but the man just talked over her and blamed me & didn't say sorry once. I was made to look like the bad person when all I did was try to let them know that I had eaten something I am allergic to. I don't recommend the bhatki tree if you have dietary requirements or if you expect good customer service, especially from the rude man who was working there.

Sooo delicious - Edit
Three of us had the Bhakti Meal which is curry, rice, salad, potatoes and papadams. Each element had beautiful subtle flavours. Loved it. And so reasonable too. The vegan choc brownie and vegan bliss ball were incredible. 😁🕉️ What a great surprise to find this place when visiting Newcastle.
Read morePros: Delicious. Reasonable.
Cons: It's in Newcastle, not in Sydney where we live.

We visit frequently - Edit
My boyfriend says this is his favourite restraunt in our area. We almost always get the all you can eat buffet which usually includes rice, curry, roast vegetables, salad and papadum plus a dessert afterwards for $15 and now if you just want one plate of the buffet it's $12. They have a cow which they say they get "nonviolent" milk from so on one occasion the buffet had milk in it so we just got regular menu items. Also make sure to specify you want the vegan dessert because some use the cows milk. The food is very wholesome and flavourful. And the restraunt has nice atmosphere

A gorgeous meal, community and place to refuel on our way up to Brisbane (well worth the drive off the highway). Thank you for a nurturing place to land. Highly recommended!
