Beautiful Mountain Cafe, Aberdeen

Fair enough there's quite a lot of cheese and egg dishes listed on the menu and if you are vegan you will be able to get a choice of a couple of sandwiches. Also I had a beautiful vegan soup here but whether or not the soup is always vegan, I am unable to comment on whether or not the soup is always vegan. There is though great sections of the menu dedicated to the eating of slaughtered animal produce, with the menu trying to titilate the customers with the comments such as this quoted straight from the menu:-
* Prime back bacon from Robertson's Ardrossan
* Pork & beef sausages hand-made by our local butcher to our own recipe
* award winning black pudding from ramsey's of carluke
Yummy stuff if that's your thing but for me, no thanks.
£6.10 for a toasted sandwich of humous and a few slices of roasted pepper. That didn't seem good value to me even though it was served with a salad.
Staff were very nice.
This place is somewhere to go if you are desparate and there is nowhere else open at that moment in time. Should happycow be diverting business to this place when Tropical Gateway Cafe is a few mins walk away with an all vego & 99% vegan menu? I don't think so.

Pros: Somewhere to go if nowehre else is open, Nice staff

Cons: Primarily geared to meat eating, Not the most budget friendly

Friendly, good food, but expensive

I went to The Beautiful Mountain Cafe with my partner for lunch a few weeks ago. It's quite easy to find as it's in the city centre. First impression was how popular it was. We nearly had to wait for a table but fortunately one came free just after we arrived. It felt a bit cramped, having to squeeze by staff and other customers to get to our table.

Not an amazing choice for vegetarians and especially vegans. The staff were knowledgeable about what's suitable which was very helpful - it's always reassuring when you don't have to spend five minutes explaining what you can and can't eat!

The soup we went for turned out to be unavailable, then a few minutes later we were told that the sandwich filling I'd gone also wasn't available that day either. I ended up having the bean pate sandwich instead while my partner had the avocado and pepper sandwich. Both were served with a good salad. We both agreed the sandwiches were reasonably nice, a fairly good size, though expensive.

The staff were very apologetic about the soup and the original choice of sandwich filling being unavailable, so kindly only charged us for one sandwich plus drinks.

Friendly place, reasonable food, but not cheap.

Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, Reasonably good food

Cons: Expensive, Slightly limited choice for vegans

Beautiful Mountain Cafe

This has a lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff and very yummy vegan food. If they're not sure if something is vegan it is no trouble for them to check with the cook/chef

Pros: friendly staff, great food

Cons: expensive

good food, nice place

I ate once at the beautiful mountain cafe.
they have a take away and sit in part.
The food is lovely, I just think it's a bit shameless, that you have to pay twice as much in the sit in part than at the take away! that's not fair!

Pros: food, variety, athmosphere

Cons: prices
