Good variety of vegan food - Edit
The Barge & Bottle have a good selection of vegan starters and mains. The portion was big too. I had battered mushrooms and sweet chilli dip which was delicious and lasagne, garlic bread and chips for mains which was good. The lasagne was vegetables, lasagne sheets (I believe) and vegan cheese. The garlic bread was toasted bread with “homemade” dairy free spread with garlic which wasn’t to my taste but was ok. Good atmosphere with music playing and helpful waitresses and waiters. Overall, I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to go back.

We arrived Sunday lunchtime without a booking. They were taking no more orders but when I said we were vegan and it would be hard to eat in area the manager gave us a table!

Great meal, full vegan menu - Edit
Lots of choices on the dedicated vegan menu. You can tell that the chef has given a lot of attention to the vegan options. We had the battered mushrooms with sweet chilli dip for starters, vegan lasagne, (small) salad, garlic bread and chips and shared the fruit crumble with passion fruit sorbet. It was all delicious. I would certainly go back next time we're in the area.

We were really impressed with the range of food on the vegan menu. Way more options than I was expecting.
Read moreWe had the vegan lasagne with the bretzel garlic bread, really delicious. The staff were lovely and helpful.
We will definitely be back, it is a great place for family get togethers, everyone has options to eat what they want.

Read moreWe always pick The Barge and Bottle to celebrate family birthdays because there is something for everyone, burgers, steaks, pub classics and now an additional full Vegan menu with 15 dishes over three courses to choose from! I had the starter Vegan soup of the day which was homemade rustic tomato and basil with a Bretzil bread roll, soup was full of flavour and texture with a punchy kick to it, delicious. Next up was the Vegan lasagne served with Bretzil garlic bread with mixed salad and chips. The Vegan lasagna had pasta layers and topped with melted Vegan cheese that actually tasted of cheese! Tasty and filling main course. To finish I went with the Vegan rice pudding with fruit coulis, very nice. The restaurant is a warm and welcoming environment with staff that are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend The Barge and Bottle, a great meal out with plenty of choices for any age and any dietary requirement. I shall be returning soon to work my way through the rest of the Full Vegan Menu!
