Vegan junk food!

Enjoyed two items from this food truck at Vegtoria 2017 in Victoria. Long lineups and waits did not deter many people. I enjoyed the Rueben sandwich and later in the day the deep-fried, battered, grilled cheese sandwich – wow, who thought of that?! Delicious as a once-in-a-while thing. The mound of deep-fried, battered, cauliflower wings looked great too. Thanks to Liz and the cooks.

Quick vegan fare in a beautiful spot

Vegan options are limited in the Comox Valley so having a 100% vegan food truck is a huge boost. It's located close to the Courtenay Airpark with its picturesque oceanside trails so is in a great location to grab some food and enjoy the view while you eat. The menu is not extensive but our large family has tried and enjoyed it all. The menu is largely fried foods which is fun but not the healthiest of option so this is one for the ethical/environmental vegans rather than the health vegans (who should probably head downtown Courtenay to Rawthentic). The service is quick and friendly, the sauces are home-made, the ingredients are largely locally sourced, and there are several outside seating options to sit and enjoy the view while you wait/eat. The only down-side is the lack of drinks so it pays to plan ahead on that front.
