Complete disaster - Edit
This bakery actually has a lot to offer but no vegan choices. Only tea, one salad, bread with jam and coffee with oat milk.
Read moreI wanted to get a cake and a bagels platter. Cake was not available for the day, but they didnt mentioned it anywhere (no sign)and for the platter I wanted to exchange cheese and egg for avocado, hummus, jam, tomato, eggplant - whatever they have. They didnt had anything of these options and their suggestion was soysauce instead of cheese?!
So in summary very bad service, nothing available and for a german bakery they should have one english speaking stuff at least. They need the chef to decide, they cant even give good suggestions. In total all the staff (3) tried to manage how to exchange egg/ cheese to vegan 🤦♀️
And if they open from 8.30 am till 2pm, they should be ready with everything. I came at 10.30 and they just brought some bread and all the other shelves were completely empty. Wouldnt recommend coming there or maybe one hour before they re closing.

Disappointment - Edit
We wanted to have breakfast here in the bakery. Since we're from Germany, we thought we'd have a brunch menu or something.
Read moreWe are both vegans and wanted to change our breakfast menu a little. Instead of cheese and eggs, just vegetables and jam. But that wasn't possible because the cook wasn't there and at 10:30 am? How is that possible?
When the cook came, we were told there were no vegetables, no hummus and no cake. Then they might as well close the store and not open until the next day.
The icing on the cake was that they offered us soy sauce with bread as compensation. For me, that's an insult. Soy sauce or rice have no place in German cuisine and offering me that in a German bakery is a cheek. This shows me that the staff are at a loss without the boss. They have no idea about German food culture. It doesn't work like that. They should at least know the basics. In the end, I was very disappointed and angry.
Pros: Bread
Cons: Workers have no idea about our culture , Menu sold out Sunday morning

Amazing little bakery - Edit
Amazing filling food. A lovely break from all the Chinese style food options available in Yunnan. The dish I ordered had cheese but could easily have been made vegan by excluding the cheese. Right in the centre of old town.

Genuine German bakery and eatery - Edit
The lady who runs the restaurant and bakery is very much aware of which dishes, breads and ingredients are suitable for vegans.
