Busy Bakery, Some Vegan Options.

Tŷ Becws is a favourite spot amongst locals and visitors alike and is situated on the award winning Palace Street in Caernarfon. They have many cakes and bakes on offer and had four vegan options in addition to plant milks during my visit.

The options were a Vegan Roll, Vegan Sausage Roll, Trillionaires Tart, and a Biscoff Slice. The two savoury pastries and the tart were not homemade as I have seen them as vegan options in other eateries, and the biscoff slice looks as if it was a piece of a homemade tray bake. The Vegan Roll, also known as a Bhaji Roll in some eateries, is always a winner in my book as it is beany and spicy, and the tart looks appeal and tastes nice.

The vegan cakes were not labelled in the cake fridge, but the woman who served me had a notebook with all the information in it of the vegan cakes available that day. It is, therefore, definitely worth asking a staff member about the vegan options.

It is a shame there were no vegan sandwich or salad options or a greater variety of homemade vegan bakes. There is definitely room for improvement when it comes to catering for vegans at Tŷ Becws, but in a town where there are very few vegan takeaway options and a Greggs as the only other large bakery, I know where I'd rather spend my money.
