Very good bagel shop

Totally good options. Knowledgeable staff. Plain bagel is without egg

Pros: The regular bagel is without egg, They have two really good options + make your own, Staff is extremely knowledgeable

Cons: Little pricy but standard for Alaska

Love this place!

Upbeat and happening bagel shop! Very popular! Must be a local favorite. Long lines but the staff was awesome and quick. Tried the vegan bagel sandwich with roasted carrot za’atar hummus. Tasty and filling. Not many other options except for a plain bagel or garden salad. The Alaska Chip Company potato chips were good. They do have plant-based milks for espresso drinks. Hubs tried their Mexican Mocha (unsure if it can be made vegan) and said it was the best he’s ever had. A great stop if just for the lively atmosphere! The barista was super nice.

Pros: Vegan bagel sandwich , Atmosphere , Staff

Cons: Could use more vegan options

Delicious vegan schmear!

This place was a surprisingly nice treat. Just a bagel, but wow, a really good one… The vegan spread was excellent, tasted homemade. Filling breakfast!

Best bagels in AK

Staff knows and understands what vegan is. Only the plain bagel is vegan (others have egg wash) but they typically have an decent assortment of homemade vegan spreads. They also offer salads.

Pros: Friendly staff , Vegan friendly , Good food

Cons: Limited bagel menu

Ditto to the previous review

The Bagel Shop is well worth the beautiful drive out of town for an ample, filling, quality bagel sandwich- plus really good coffee drinks. If you call ahead 24+ hours you can request any bagel variety to be made without the egg wash- the bagels freeze well if you order a bunch. The staff and owners are the best, and the vibe is so friendly and happy.

Pros: Excellent vegan schmear every day, Sandwiches loaded with veggies, Can call ahead for bagels without egg wash

Perfect Bagels

Best bagels in town by a wide margin. If you're in Homer, skip Safeway's bagels and come here. It's not in the center of town, but don't let that discourage you. Plenty of vegetarian options (cream cheese, homemade schmears, egg and cheese sandwiches, etc.). For vegans, stick to the plain bagels. Everything else has egg wash or butter. They always have at least one vegan schmear, usually two. Their hummus is homemade, changes often, and is usually made with an atypical ingredient (like beets). Their cashew-based spreads make a great sandwich (curried cashew was delicious). They don't list peanut butter on the menu, but I got a PB&J for breakfast one day. Owners are the nicest people. and like to use local ingredients when they can.

Pros: Perfect bagels, Interesting vegan schmears

Cons: Only vegan bagel is the plain
