Lekker maar duur

Hier ben ik een paar keer geweest inmiddels, maar elke keer zit ik niet vol en betaal ik me wel blauw. Zo jammer, want het eten is lekker (ik hou van avocado’s)

Pros: Lekker eten

Cons: Duur, Niet zo divers

Delicious choices

I choose the Fun Burger(vegan) which tasted very good, my mother ate the V.A.N. Bun (vegetarian) which was also delicious and looked amazing (see photo with pansy).

I saw the recommendation healthy choices but having bacon f.i. on the menu is not healthy for a human and the planet.

It took some time to serve but we knew this from another review on happy cow and then it is something you take for granted and when the food looks awesome and taste delicious it is worth the wait.

I really hope they will become at least a vegetarian restaurant in the future, it is what I expected to be.

Pros: Nice staff

Cons: Meat on the menu

We went there today, and had the Poké Mama Mango, Avocado, mango, edamame sushirice 16,25 and Mango Tango Toasts, curry hummus & mango with an avocado rose 13,50 and as a dessert Peanut Butter Avo Ice Cream, vegan avo-peanutbutter ice serves with a black cone 5,95
It was all three delicious!

Nothing really special

The avocado fries are not tasty. The staff is also very chaotic. They ask us what we want 8 times, also after we already ordered something.

Pretty healthy food

"The Avocado Show" is a famous restaurant in Amsterdam that's even listed in tourist guides. This is because of two reasons. First: it's the first restaurant that specialises in avocado based food. Second: the food looks so amazing, that social media users spend more time taking pictures of it than eating it. The result: there's always a queue outside the restaurant. And although I was curious, I didn't want to queue up to eat.

So I was surprised when I saw "The Avocado Show" in the "Westfield Mall of The Netherlands". This is the only large mall in the country and it attracts many visitors from the entire country because parking is free (and ample). An even bigger surprise: the avocado show was one of the quietest restaurants in the food court. A great chance to try!

We were a party of three: a meat eater, a vegetarian and me (vegan). The meat eater was extremely happy with the "Cali chicken" and stated that the meal far exceeded expectations. The vegetarian loved "Viva Las Veggies" and finished this large salad in record time.

I had the "Totally Tempeh" and was less enthusiastic. The tempeh was burned and the cauliflower was dry. And while the combination of ingredients certainly worked, it wasn't anything special to eat or to take pictures of (which I still did for this review). Decent quality food, average quality ingredients, above original presentation.

All of us were almost ecstatic about the desserts. Apparently the "Oreo Cheesecake Heaven" has such exceptionally good cheesecake that it renders the chocolate and Oreo almost disturbing. The "Peanut Butter Avo Ice Cream" is a highly original dish of delicious avocado-nut ice cream.

Even though the kitchen was fully staffed and the restaurant was only 1/3rd full, it took long for every serving to reach our table. Half of the staff doesn't speak Dutch. All of the staff is very kind and helpful.

In the end I don't really see what all the fuss is about and I'm glad that I never queued up outside in Amsterdam. The text on the cloths of the staff says it all: "pretty healthy food". Yes, it looks pretty. Yes, it's fairly healthy.

Pros: several vegan options, original concept, reasonable prices

Cons: loud place in a busy shopping mall, half the staff doesn't speak Dutch

Good vegan options

We had the Sweet Stack pancakes, the Mama Mango Poké Bowl and Sweety Fries as a side. It all tasted delicious.
Good choice for vegan lunch options.

Good looking and delicous

This restaurant is situated inside of the shopping mall and we went here for a quick break. Interior and food looks very 'Instagrammable' and pretty. Service was friendly and quick. There were enough vegan options on the menu and everything we got was delicious. I recommend every avocado lover to go here once!

Pros: Very pretty, friendly service
