Went to book - checked the website and phoned. The previous very good 'separate' vegan/veggie menu has now been disappointed.

Read moreWe chose homity pie and a Beyond burger. They had neither so settled for the pappardelle, which came as fusilli. It was as though the chef had thrown something together with whatever he had in the cupboard. It came with garlic bread, they were reluctant to give it to us, and when it arrived it was a toasted brioche, and maybe it was shown some garlic in passing.
If you're going, give them the heads up you're vegan, they may run to the shop if you're lucky.

Wholesome vegan grub - Edit
Separate vegan menu with several options for all three courses. Had the soup and pie and was very good. Couple of options not available on the night but still a pleasant meal.

Really nice pub, with a separate vegan and vegetarian menu. We picked the homity pie, which was nice but not anything special, there wasn’t tonnes of flavour. The staff were friendly but didn’t come and check if our meal was okay, didn’t clear our plates or offer dessert menu and didn’t even ask if we’d had a nice meal when we paid.

Friendly pub with lots of vegan options - Edit
We had the spiced cauliflower and lentil pie with gravy and the chocolate fudge cake for dessert. Both were great. Highly recommended if you're in the peak district.

Great country pub. Vegan menu with quite a few options including Sunday roasts. Definitely worth a visit. Staff even went out to the shop to get Oat milk as they'd run out. Will be coming back

Lovely vegan menu with plenty of options for hot and cold meals for lunch/dinner. They accept hikers and are very dog friendly (provide water and treats). Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and very tasty. The chefs are accommodating to your preferences if you need to swap anything out of a dish. Perfect place to stop off after a long day hiking.

We had a lovely meal here. We both had the heritage tomato starter which was tasty. My husband had the vegan meatballs which were were lush. I had the homity pie which was so tasty and comforting. For dessert we both had a vegan chocolate and cherry cheesecake with mango sorbet. This was so tasty! Great food, especially after a long walk in the Derbyshire Dales!

Fab location for walks or visits to Buxton, Bakewell etc. Separate vegan menu in a cosy pub. I had the Homity Pie and it was so so so good.. My fellow diner had the 5 bean chilli burger which was equally tasty.

Full vegan/veggie menu that caters to every taste and not a falafel in sight! Delicious, filling homemade food, in a cosy pub setting with very friendly staff. Our group are here twice over a weekend of camping and all, vegans and meat eaters, enjoyed the food! There was even 2 vegan options for the Sunday Roast!!

This was the only place open on a Sunday evening so we were happy to find it. I had nachos with vegan cheese, salsa, avocado etc. A bit too much chilli/jalapeño for me but that’s a personal preference. The nachos themselves were very nice.

My friends however, did not enjoy their food. Everything seems to be from frozen (understandable in a small town).
