Healthy brunch

Good food away from the crowds in Brighton for locals and healthy traveler souls as me. They delay a bit my order however the breakfast was really healthy and balanced. Highly recommend.

Pros: Vegan and vegetarian options, Good ambience , Good quality foods

Me and partner have eaten here a few times for breakfast and have been pleasantly surprised. We have sampled the stuffed focaccia brekkie and the full vegan breakfast, both were very tasty. Great portion sizes, great service and reasonably priced. Also does great fresh juices and great coffee

Fantastic Breakfasts

My husband who is not vegan and myself had breakfast here yesterday. It is a very cosy place and is vegetarian/vegan with lots of gluten free options. My husband had a green smoothie which he loved plus a vegetarian breakfast and I had the vegan breakfast which they made gluten free for me. It included grilled polenta, scrambled tofu and a field mushroom plus other bits and was extremely delicious and filling. It’s a little bit out of the way from the centre but well worth the short walk. I never would have found it without happy cow so thank you!

Pros: Gluten free options, Friendly staff, Great value for money

Cons: None

Friendly little cafe

Good range of vegan options on the menu. I enjoyed a soya hot chocolate and cake. Would like to go back for the vegan breakfast.
Nice little space and friendly service.
Although it is not in the centre of town it isn't far from the station.

Pros: Vegan options clearly labelled, Friendly service

Awesome Vegan Breakfast

The menu has an excellent choice of dishes and if we had been stopping a few more days, we would have returned for lunch.

The breakfast included a choice of juice, so we opted for orange along with black Americano coffees and a vegan breakfast of grilled polenta, tomatoes, mushrooms, fried potato and spinach and avocado, with a side of toast. My husband ordered the vegetarian glutenfree breakast and both were excellent, perfectly cooked and seasoned, the polenta was a great addition and the coffee was top notch, not surprising when I found out owners Michaela and Claudio were both from Italy, renowned for its coffee. They made a great team with Michaela at front of house and Claudio in the kitchen and were really friendly and helpful.

Highly recommended and definitely worth the walk.

Pros: Vegan options, Allergies catered for no problem, Vegan breakfast

Welcoming cafe with good range

My partner and I came for lunch with my 92-year-old mother and the staff were very helpful about finding her somewhere comfortable to sit. We all wanted to eat vegan food and there were plenty of options. I had a "Goi Chay" noodle salad which was fresh, varied and very generously proportioned. On the slightly less healthy front, we shared a vegan sausage roll which was also good. There seemed to be plenty of vegan cakes but sadly we couldn't manage any. Lunch for 3 came to under £40 which I thought was very reasonable. We brought my mother in a hire car and the traffic wasn't so frantic as round some of the other veggie restaurants in Brighton. We were able to park nearby with a blue badge.

Terrific breakfasts!

At The Almond Tree you can find a big variety of vegetarian and vegan breakfast, as well as smoothies and juices. Portions are not that big, but still very tasty.
The place is rather small but cozy, since it's not too full.
Cakes, veggie sausages rolls and wraps to go are also available.
Full breakfasts for about 12£ including tea.

Pros: Great food, Breakfast plates are very complete

Cons: Portions are rather small, Could have some more vegan options

Wonderful!

Such a great place! Really lovely atmosphere with friendly and helpful service.

And the food! I wish I could've had the time to eat here more than once.
I had a large vegan breakfast, my partner had a sausage and red onion marmalade sandwich, and then took a sausage roll, and coconut banana bread piece to go.

It was not only the best breakfast I had in my time in the uk, but it was the best breakfast I've had just in general. Made fresh, literally steaming when it was served and so flavourful!

The baked goods were also superb!

Pros: so fresh, great decor and atmosphere , friendly and helpful service

Cons: if it were all vegan it would've been perfect.

Cute place with tasty food!

They have a fair number of vegan dishes as well as breakfasts and sweets. I took the tempa sandwich and the mushroom salad with amazing vegan cheese. Loved it. They have very good coffee and the service is friendly!

Definitely coming back.

Nice lunch, relaxing atmosphere

We decided to go here for lunch the other day, as we'd never been before. It was nice, and there were lots of choices. Unlike some places, who offer lunch-y things, and dinner-y meals, this was more of a lunch or breakfast place, but that's not a bad thing. My other half had the all-day Vegan breakfast, and I had the toasted polenta W/mushrooms, rocket, garlic pesto, etc. We both had a fresh juice, and we shared a piece of Vegan chocolate cake-all was absolutely delicious! I think it's all reasonably priced, as it was very filling. The Vegan options are clearly labeled, and there is plenty to choose from.

Pros: Plenty of Vegan options, Really lovely food, Nice atmosphere

Cons: It is hard to spot at first, Not a massive place, but some outdoors, Not 100% Vegan

An immediate favourite

From the outside it looks like a tea shop or greasy spoon cafe. Walk through the sliding door and enter a world of delicious food. Although Vegetarian the number of Vegan and Gluten Free options are impressive. The polenta and home-made vegan cheese are fantastic and the prices are cheap. The thing that should get you through the door though is the cake. I had Vanilla and Coconut today and have tried others before and beside the very generous sizes the taste is intense and I have never eaten moister cake. The staff are very friendly too and there is free wifi too.

Worth a visit any time for any reason. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Pros: Home-made and cheap food, Lots of Vegan and GF options, Friendly Staff

Cons: Easy to walk past it, Not in the town centre

Lovely, cosy, cafe.

I visited The Almond Tree for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved it. I had a delicious meal (toasted polenta with mushrooms and rocket, my friend had a vegan full english) plus cake and we sampled both their home made vegan cheese and their home made hazelnut spread. Everything was delicious and the couple who run the cafe are super friendly. I'll definitely be going back and I can't wait to try their sunday roast.

Pros: Knowledgeable staff, Great gluten free options, Homemade vegan cheese

Cons: Small space
