The selection was fantastic. I’m a big sweets fan and the toffee pudding was superb!!! Had fish and chips as my main. Very good as well. But the toffee!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Vegan Food - Edit
Visited for dinner whilst in Manchester for a concert at Bridgewater Hall. Fabulous vegan food and they were very good regarding allergies. Had butternut squash salad and tofu skewers with satay sauce to start then cauliflower harissa stew and banana blossom fish n chips with minted peas. Absolutely delicious...will definitely revisit.

Fast service and very child friendly. - Edit
Amazing service, our waitress was so polite. We had our baby with us (it was his birthday) and considering the vibe is so quite and relaxed they were so good with us. Food was incredible, jackfruit tacos are a must. Hazelnut slice was mouth watering.

Excellent food - Edit
The place is beautiful and the staff is very nice. The food is excellent. However I ordered Chestnut Bourguignon and it was very different comparing to the pictures, it was also not tasty. The Jackfruit nachos is amazing.

Disappointed - Edit
Very slow service, didn’t seem particularly busy.
Read moreButternut squash undercooked and nothing offered to make up for it. Not the nicest room. Lighting needs sorting out. Supermarket music on tinny speakers. I really liked this restaurant in the early days, But can’t see myself going back. Not worth the money.
Cons: Small portions , Awful lighting and music

Expensively disappointing - Edit
I really getting fed up with expensive vegan food tatt, and here is another example!! Portion sizes small but bill large. Menu uninspiring as you can get it in any pub with a vegan option: cauliflower wings, fish and chips etc...... I want to go somewhere honest to eat which shows off real vegan food and is inspirired cookery.

Friendly service, food was really good. Not the best ramen I've ever had, slight lack of mushrooms and noodles but still good. Everything else was very nice, especially the satay tofu!

Fabulous Sunday roast - Edit
We went here after doing the marathon and the Sunday roasts were delicious and plentiful - just what we needed! The staff were great, especially considering we were a table of 11 and arrived just before closing! It was a really chilled lovely evening. Highly recommend!

Fine tuned and just right - Edit
They've got this place just right. An unfussy menu with albeit familiar dishes but excellent produce, deliciously made and sizeable portions. Beautiful cabin-esque decor with intimate but not isolated seating. Not feeling packed in, the place was full at 6.30 on a Friday and stayed that way. Really excellent service. We adored every course, and even the espressos were good. Too often elsewhere they're burnt. We prefer this iteration of Allotment to its haute cuisine and slightly pretentious fine dining forbear, which was nice, but now all the elements work well for a more relaxed, inexpensive yet thoroughly well produced experience.

Everything was very well presented and tasty! They have a deal of two small plates and a hot drink for £10 during the day in the week which makes an excellent lunch!

Fantastic birthday meal - Edit
The restaurant itself is a gorgeous design with a relaxing ambience. The staff were really friendly and accommodating.
Read moreWe ordered a sharing board and a couple of starters to try a bit of everything. You could add a bottle of house wine to the sharing board for an additional £8.50 which I would really recommend as the wine was very nice!
The food was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. The cauliflower wings and aubergine rolls were so flavoursome! The miso maple mushroom were lovely, never had anything like that before. And the "feta" cheeze was a really nice choice when I know some cheese alternatives can be difficult.
Overall it was amazing and such a fantastic place to come for a birthday meal.

Chilled evening meal - Edit
Found this little gem last minute, and glad we did. The place itself is a great vibe- very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We ordered the platter and a number of small plates. My partners favourite was the cauliflower popcorn and mine was the vegan feta and all the dips for the chunky chips!

Lovely food, but allow time - Edit
Lovely interior and the food was delicious! I have the miso maple mushrooms to start, followed by the ramen noodles. Both was divine, but the portion sizes are quite small. The service was good in that it was very friendly, but we were waiting for an hour between finishing our starters and our mains arriving (not sure if that is normal or our order was forgotten about). I'd advise to plan on being there for a while and not schedule anything else soon after. All in all, a lovely restaurant with tasty food and reasonably priced.

Fresh, exciting food - Edit
I’ve eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff, and a fresh and vibrant menu with loads to choose from. I’ve tried most of the current menu (by both ordering it and pinching it off my husband’s plate) and everything’s always well cooked with a balanced taste. Very reasonably priced, it’s probably now our default

my new favourite - Edit
i’ve been to the allotment twice recently and both times have been phenomenal!
Read moremy dog and i went for lunch both times when the restaurant was almost entirely empty, but the servers zoey and liam were SO friendly and chatty that i didn’t feel uncomfortable with the silence at all. try asking for their recommendations; you can tell they know their menu, and will guide you through the tastiest items, since it’s so damn hard to choose when everything sounds good.
i took photos of the food and even my omni, vegetable-loathing family remarked on how good they looked – and everything tasted AMAZING.
i don’t know what the other reviews are thinking. unless this is a jekyll-and-hyde scenario and the restaurant magically transforms into a dump by night, i give it 11/10. i live 2 hours outside of manchester, but this was THE destination for me.
Pros: extremely friendly, knowledgeable staff, gourmet food for reasonable prices, very dog-friendly :)
Cons: none at all!

Disappointing - Edit
I have looked forward to going to this place for a long time and hate giving a vegan place a bad review.
Read moreBut unfortunately it was very disappointing.
The food was unpleasant and at best bland. A small pile of tasteless mushrooms and a dish of bland cauliflower soup, which didn't taste of cauliflower.
What really annoyed me was the sign
outside on the pavement saying 2 small plates and a drink for £10. We visited on a Saturday and on the menu the offer was only for Monday to Friday.
It has recently changed hands and as often happens the standards have dropped.
Definitely won't be going again.

Love this place - Edit
Great ambiance, original and creative menu choices, perhaps not as original as the last time I visited, with vegan 'fish' and chips being one of the main dishes, and salt and pepper tofu, being one of the small dishes, which can easily be found in other vegan establishments. The food tasted great though, and I certainly felt full at the end. Fantastic cocktails and huge choice of vegan wine. I went here last night with my partner and had a lovely dining experience. The staff were both professional and gave the right level of attentiveness, answering our queries promptly. The food might be a bit pricey, but I think it's the overall experience you are paying for.
